Near-infrared emitting iridium complexes: Molecular design, photophysical properties, and related applications

open access: yesiScience, 2021
Summary: Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have become popular displays from small screens of wearables to large screens of televisions. In those active-matrix OLED displays, phosphorescent iridium(III) complexes serve as the indispensable green and ...

Affinity-Based Luminescent Iridium(III) Complexes for the Detection of Disease-Related Proteins

open access: yesInorganics, 2022
The occurrence of diseases is usually accompanied by changes in protein levels and types. These differentially expressed proteins can be used as biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Sub-Chronic Oral Exposure to Iridium (III) Chloride Hydrate in Female Wistar Rats: Distribution and Excretion of the Metal

open access: yesDose-Response, 2012
Iridium tissue distribution and excretion in female Wistar rats following oral exposure to iridium (III) chloride hydrate in drinking water (from 1 to 1000 ng/ml) in a sub-chronic oral study were determined.

Study of Iridium electrodeposition on Ti and A304

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2015
Iridium is considered a valuable material due to its physical, chemical and electrocatalytic properties [1-3]. Iridium recovery from post-consumed industrial materials and effluents [4, 5] is necessary, since the natural resources for its production are ...

Formation of nanostructured iridium and polycluster diamond films [PDF]

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2007
Iridium films and layered structures "iridium — diamond" were formed on Al2O3, MgO and SrTiO3 substrates. Iridium films were obtained by magnetron sputtering, and polycluster diamond films — by microwave discharge method. Structure of iridium and diamond

A Panchromatic Cyclometalated Iridium Dye Based on 2-Thienyl-Perimidine

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Though 2-arylperimidines have never been used in iridium(III) chemistry, the present study on structural, electronic and optical properties of N-unsubstituted and N-methylated 2-(2-thienyl)perimidines, supported by DFT/TDDFT calculations, has shown that ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Sub-monolayers of iridium electrodeposited on Ti2AlC substrate as catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction in sulfuric acid solution

open access: yesZaštita Materijala, 2020
The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) was investigated at sub-monolayers of iridium electrodeposited on Ti2AlC substrate. The lowest amount of electrodeposited iridium was 3 close-packed (111) monolayers (3 ML), while the highest one was 22 ML (3, 5, 10,

Nano-metal diborides-supported anode catalyst with strongly coupled TaOx/IrO2 catalytic layer for low-iridium-loading proton exchange membrane electrolyzer

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
The sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and high iridium loading in catalyst coated membrane (CCM) are the key challenges for practical proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer (PEMWE).
