Iridoid Sex Pheromone Biosynthesis in Aphids Mimics Iridoid‐Producing Plants [PDF]
AbstractBiosynthesis of (1R,4aS,7S,7aR)‐nepetalactol (1) and (4aS,7S,7aR)‐nepetalactone (2) in plants involves iridoid synthase (ISY), an atypical reductive cyclase that catalyses the reduction of 8‐oxogeranial into the reactive enol of (S)‐8‐oxocitronellal, and cyclization of this enol intermediate, either non‐enzymatically or by a nepetalactol ...

Anti-Lipogenic Effects of Iridoid-Rich Lonicera caerulea Berry Extracts in a Cortisol-Stimulated Adipocyte Model. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Berries of Lonicera caerulea (blue honeysuckle; haskap) have been used since ancient times in traditional medicine in China, Japan, and northern Russia. This study aimed to extract, characterize, and evaluate the biological activity of iridoid‐rich fractions from haskap berries using an in vitro adipocyte model.

Nine Unique Iridoids and Iridoid Glycosides From Patrinia scabiosaefolia [PDF]
Patrinia scabiosaefolia is a medical and edible Chinese herb with high nutritional and medicinal value. The continuing study of its chemical constituents led to the discovery of nine unique iridoids and iridoid glycosides, including three new iridoids (1-3) and six previously unknown irioid glycosides (5-10), and one known compound (4).

Iridoids and active ones in patrinia: A review
Iridoid is a special class of monoterpenoids, whose basic skeleton is the acetal derivative of antinodilaldehyde with a bicyclic H-5/H-9β, β-cisfused cyclopentan pyran ring.

Potential Protective Role Exerted by Secoiridoids from Olea europaea L. in Cancer, Cardiovascular, Neurodegenerative, Aging-Related, and Immunoinflammatory Diseases [PDF]
Iridoids, which have beneficial health properties, include a wide group of cyclopentane [c] pyran monoterpenoids present in plants and insects. The cleavage of the cyclopentane ring leads to secoiridoids.
