Stereospecific Transition‐Metal‐Free Alkylation of Chiral Non‐Racemic Secondary Tosylates with Cyanohydrins: Convenient Access to Enantiomerically Enriched α‐Tertiary Ketones

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A stereospecific, transition‐metal‐free SN2 alkylation of cyanohydrins with chiral non‐racemic secondary tosylates is reported, providing efficient access to enantioenriched α‐tertiary ketones. The method exhibits broad substrate scope, operational simplicity, and excellent stereospecificity, including stereoconvergent reactions of E/Z mixtures of ...

From Materials to Systems: Challenges and Solutions for Fast‐Charge/Discharge Na‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review systematically analyzes the key characteristics limiting the fast‐charge/discharge capability of Na‐ion batteries (SIBs) from a multi‐scale perspective encompassing electrode materials, the electrode‐electrolyte interface, and the system. Furthermore, it presents practical solution strategies for the fundamental issues arising at each scale,

Synthesis and Characterization of Unusual S=1 Fe(0)‐Silyl Complexes Supported by Styrene Ligands

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Despite the long‐standing importance of iron‐silicon bonds as related to catalysis, high‐spin Fe(0)‐silyl complexes remain a historical synthetic challenge in the field. Herein, we report the first series of high‐spin S = 1, styrene‐stabilized Fe(0)‐silyl complexes followed by extensive characterization via Mössbauer spectroscopy, single crystal X‐ray ...

Influence of Metal Species and Content of Fe‐Ni‐Poly(heptazine imides) on their Properties as Electrocatalysts for Zinc‐Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Iron/nickel‐modified poly(heptazine imides) are efficient, low‐cost bifunctional electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction and evolution reactions in aqueous zinc–air batteries. Iron enhances oxygen reduction, while nickel single‐atoms deliver oxygen evolution activity comparable to RuO2.

Unnatural Amino Acid and Emerging Chemistry Approaches to Map RNA–Protein Interactions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This review highlights emerging chemistries for mapping RNA–protein interactions, including genetically encoded unnatural amino acids, novel photocrosslinkers, and non‐photoactivatable crosslinking systems. We compare their mechanisms, reactivity and applications, outlining how these next‐generation tools enable higher‐resolution, site‐specific ...

Tailored Design of Iridium Single Atoms on Mn–Ni‐Phytate with Robust Bifunctionality for Enhanced Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a manganese‐doped nickel hydroxide scaffold that anchors iridium as isolated single atoms (SAs) using a phytate ligand. The hierarchical nanoarray catalyst efficiently drives simultaneous hydrogen and oxygen evolution in alkaline media, enabling industrial‐level current densities and long‐term stability in an anion‐exchange‐membrane ...
