Ischemic Stroke Lesion Segmentation Using Adversarial Learning [PDF]
Ischemic stroke occurs through a blockage of clogged blood vessels supplying blood to the brain. Segmentation of the stroke lesion is vital to improve diagnosis, outcome assessment and treatment planning. In this work, we propose a segmentation model with adversarial learning for ischemic lesion segmentation.

Microalbuminuria in Ischemic Stroke [PDF]
To determine (1) the incidence of microalbuminuria in patients with recent ischemic stroke, (2) its relationship to risk factors for stroke, (3) its prevalence in the major subtypes of ischemic stroke, and (4) its potential for identifying patients at increased risk for recurrent stroke, myocardial infarction, or vascular death.Prospective case-control

Association of stroke lesion distributions with atrial fibrillation detected after stroke [PDF]
Background Atrial fibrillation is often missed by traditional intermittent electrocardiogram monitoring after ischemic stroke due to its paroxysmal and asymptomatic nature. The knowledge of the unique characteristics of the population with atrial fibrillation detected after stroke (AFDAS) enables more ischemic stroke patients to benefit from more ...

Stroke as the First Manifestation of Atrial Fibrillation. [PDF]
Atrial fibrillation may remain undiagnosed until an ischemic stroke occurs. In this retrospective cohort study we assessed the prevalence of ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack as the first manifestation of atrial fibrillation in 3,623 patients ...

MAMAF-Net: Motion-Aware and Multi-Attention Fusion Network for Stroke Diagnosis [PDF]
Stroke is a major cause of mortality and disability worldwide from which one in four people are in danger of incurring in their lifetime. The pre-hospital stroke assessment plays a vital role in identifying stroke patients accurately to accelerate further examination and treatment in hospitals.

Genetic factors are important in the pathogenesis of cerebrovascular diseases. Stroke represents a multifactorial polygenic disorder where the role of environmental factors is quite well defined as opposed to the role of genetic factors which needs to be further elucidated.
