Isolation method affects transformed cell line karyotype
Nature, 1978NEOPLASTIC cells frequently have a karyotype deviant from the normal diploid state1. Transformation of cells in culture by tumour viruses can be used as a model of neoplastic transformation2,3 and is generally considered to be accompanied by extensive changes in chromosome number and morphology4–7.

Characterizations of Simple Isolated Line Singularities
Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1999AbstractA line singularity is a function germ with a smooth 1-dimensional critical set . An isolated line singularity is defined by the condition that for every x ≠ 0, the germ of f at (x, 0) is equivalent to . Simple isolated line singularities were classified by Dirk Siersma and are analogous of the famous A − D − E singularities.

A New Slot Line Broadband Isolator
3rd European Microwave Conference, 1973, 1973The present paper is devoted to a study of displacement effect on a slot line structure. shown a broad frequency band of operation. An described. non reciprocal devices using a field First experimental results have isolator and a 4-port circulator are It is well known that the dominant mode on a slot line exhibits regions where the magnetic field is ...

Cell Line Isolation and Design
2011Biotechnology and genetic engineering have facilitated a new generation of biology-based therapeutic agents known broadly as biopharmaceuticals. Many of these agents address otherwise untreatable diseases, and now represent a worldwide market of over US$100 billion per year.

Integration of in-line optical isolators
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1996A new configuration of an optical isolator chip, which is suitable for use in integrated in-line optical isolators, has been proposed. The chip consists of a birefringent plate, a pair of birefringent wedges, and a Faraday rotator. The configuration makes the best use of transmission characteristics of expanded-core fibers in which the chip is embedded.

Networks immune to isolated line failures
Networks, 1982AbstractA network is immune to a set of failures if all message transfers between operative sites can be completed in the presence of such failures. A set of line failures is isolated if no two failing lines are incident to the same site. Several classes of isolated line failure immune (ILFI) networks are defined, including a class with fewest lines ...

Isolation and Culture of Squamous Cell Carcinoma Lines
2011Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) keratinocytes readily grow, expand in culture, and continuously passage, suggesting either spontaneous immortalisation at the early stage of culture or inherent proliferative capacity. One feature of SCC keratinocytes is genomic DNA rearrangement and single-nucleotide polymorphism studies of fresh frozen primary ...

Fluorescence Line Narrowing Studies on Isolated Chlorophyll Molecules
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2010Fluorescence line-narrowing and resonance Raman properties of various chlorophylls have been measured in organic solvents. Resonance Raman spectroscopy is already a well-established method for the study of photochemical reactions in the various pigment-protein complexes involved in photosynthesis, while fluorescence line-narrowing is still an emerging ...

Line shape measurement and isolated line width calculations: Quantal versus semiclassical methods
Physical Review E, 1999In a recent paper Griem, Ralchencko, Bray [Phys. Rev. E 56, 7186 (1998)] perform quantum-mechanical calculations of the line width of the B III 2s-2p transition and find agreement with previous quantum-mechanical results. The quantum-mechanical widths are a factor approximately 2 smaller than those measured in a recent experiment where the full width ...

Isolated power and line isolation monitors.
Biomedical instrumentation & technology, 1990Isolated power and line isolation monitor systems are standards in operating rooms and cardiac catheterization suites. They provide the patient and the equipment user with the knowledge of potential hazards. When a potential hazard occurs, appropriate corrective action can take place to prevent unnecessary injury.
