The Isolation and Detection of Atomic Resonance Lines

Applied Optics, 1968
Since the spectrum of the resonance radiation from an atomic vapor consists only of those spectral lines that are absorbed by the vapor, resonance lamps can serve as monochromators for isolating these lines. The atomic vapor is produced by cathodic sputtering in a rare gas discharge or, in the case of elements with high vapor pressure at low ...

Differential Responses of Colorectal Cancer Cell Lines to Enterococcus faecalis’ Strains Isolated from Healthy Donors and Colorectal Cancer Patients [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine, 2019
The metabolites produced by the host’s gut microbiota have an important role in the maintenance of intestinal homeostasis, but can also act as toxins and induce DNA damage in colorectal epithelial cells increasing the colorectal cancer (CRC) chance.

Characterizations of Simple Isolated Line Singularities

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1999
AbstractA line singularity is a function germ with a smooth 1-dimensional critical set . An isolated line singularity is defined by the condition that for every x ≠ 0, the germ of f at (x, 0) is equivalent to . Simple isolated line singularities were classified by Dirk Siersma and are analogous of the famous A − D − E singularities.

Isolation and Characterization of a Stromal Cell Line

1992
Considerable progress in identifying cells and cytokines that regulate primary B cell differentiation has been made in the last few years, and it is now possible to present a model that identifies the stages at which various developmental signals act on B lineage cells.

Dual-band Branch Line Coupler with High Isolation Isolation Using Loaded Coupled Lines

2018 International Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society Symposium - China (ACES), 2018
A novel dual-band branch line coupler with high power division isolation using coupled lines is proposed. A conventional coupler loaded with quarter-wavelength open coupled lines is adopted to realize the dual bands. Each band has a high isolation due to the introduced transmission zeros.

Isolation and Culture of Squamous Cell Carcinoma Lines

2011
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) keratinocytes readily grow, expand in culture, and continuously passage, suggesting either spontaneous immortalisation at the early stage of culture or inherent proliferative capacity. One feature of SCC keratinocytes is genomic DNA rearrangement and single-nucleotide polymorphism studies of fresh frozen primary ...

Isolation and characterization of an avian myogenic cell line

Developmental Biology, 1991
Myogenic cell lines have proven extremely valuable for studying myogenesis in vitro. Although a number of mammalian muscle cell lines have been isolated, attempts to produce cell lines from other classes of animals have met with only limited success. We report here the isolation and characterization of seven avian myogenic cell lines (QM1-4 and QM6-8),

Fiber-embedded in-line isolator

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1991
A fiber-embedded optical isolator with a low forward loss has been developed. The isolator consists of thermally diffused expanded core fibers, laminated polarizers, and a Faraday rotation garnet. Backward and forward losses at 1.3 mu m wavelength are 44.0 and 0.9 dB, respectively. The isolator has a minute size, and its alignment is simple. >

The isolation of an antimycin A-resistant human cell line

Experimental Cell Research, 1983
An antimycin A-resistant derivative of the human cell line, D98, has been obtained by selective mutagenesis with N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine. The derivative, designed MA65, is capable of continuous growth in 15 microM antimycin and the resistant phenotype is stable in the absence of selection.

Power-Line Isolation Devices

1987
A great deal of EMI comes from electromagnetic pollution of the AC power mains (11, 12). Among the more predominant sources of contamination of primary power are: common-mode noise due to radiated pickup, differential-mode noise due to other users on the same distribution line, dropouts, and interrupts.
