Moisture sorption isotherm, isosteric heat and adsorption surface area of whole chia seeds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This study aimed to evaluate moisture sorption isotherm of whole chia seed. The equilibrium moisture content (EMC) of seeds were detected by saturated salt solutions which have the water activity (a(w)) range of 0.2-0.9.

Ethylene Films Adsorbed onto Purified HiPco Single Walled Carbon Nanotubes: A Comparison with Ethane and Longer Alkanes

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2011
The results of adsorption isotherm measurements for ethylene on purified HiPco SWNTs conducted at 11 different temperatures (between 110 K and 220 K) are reported, together with a comparison with the results we have obtained for ethane on the same ...

Interplay Between Oxidation State, Intervalence Charge Transfer Transitions and Electronic Conductivity in a Series of Ru‐Based Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Ru‐based square‐grid metal–organic frameworks undergo dramatic conductivity enhancements after chemical oxidation. The mixed‐valent states exhibit the highest conductivity values, which correlate with the appearance of intervalence charge transfer bands.

Sorption Isotherm Curves in Dry Extruded Pet Foods: Evaluation and Comparison With the Drying Curve

open access: yesJournal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sorption isotherms evaluate water exchange between food and environments with different water activities (aw), providing valuable information on physical changes and susceptibility of deterioration due to lipid oxidation and microbial growth.

Probing the molecular determinants of emission enhancement in RNA aptamer–metal complex systems

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Light up aptamer: fluorophore pairs are widely used in sensing and imaging, with coordination complex fluorophores providing specific benefits due to their long‐lived emission. Here, we examined key structural and electronic features of these metal complexes to identify the requirements for productive engagement with an RNA aptamer.

Adsorption of CO/CH Mixtures in a Molecular Model of Activated Carbon through Monte Carlo Simulations

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2012
In this article, a nanoporous carbon model based on units of polyaromatic molecules with different number of rings is described. The adsorption isotherms of pure CO 2 , CH 4 and equimolar mixtures, and isosteric heat calculations on these models ...

Moisture sorption isotherms and isosteric heat of sorption of dry persimmon leaves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Moisture sorption isotherms of persimmon leaves were determined at 20, 30 and 40 °C using the standard gravimetric static method over a range of relative humidity from 0.06 to 0.9.

Methyl on the Bridge: 2‐Methyl Propellane as Precursor for 1,3‐Substituted 2‐Methylated Bicyclo[1.1.1]Pentanes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 28, 25 July 2026.
The synthesis of 2‐methyl propellane and its conversion to various 1,2‐ and 1,2,3‐di‐ and trisubstituted bicyclopentanes is reported. Abstract Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes (BCPs) have emerged as isosteric replacements for mono‐ and para‐substituted benzene rings in medicinal and materials applications, involving substitution at the BCP bridgehead (1,3 ...

On the resolution of constant isosteric heat of propylene adsorptionon graphite in the sub-monolayer coverage region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
An early experimental study by Bezus, Dreving and Kiselev [1] on the adsorption of propylene on Spheron-6 carbon black (graphitized at ∼3000C) reported a plot of constant isosteric heat versus loading in the sub-monolayer region.
