Visual detection of isothermal nucleic acid amplification using pH-sensitive dyes

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2015
Nucleic acid amplification is the basis for many molecular diagnostic assays. In these cases, the amplification product must be detected and analyzed, typically requiring extended workflow time, sophisticated equipment, or both.

Nickase-dependent isothermal DNA amplification

open access: yesAdvances in Bioscience and Biotechnology, 2013
We developed a nicking endonuclease dependent DNA amplification (NDA), using Nt.BstNBI to catalyze single-stranded nick on double-stranded DNA, and Bst DNA polymerase to make extension while sealing the nick and displacing the downstream strand. The displaced single-stranded DNA thereby serves as template for primers hybridization and extension ...

Turbulence and Dynamo Interlinks

open access: yes, 2012
The role of turbulence in astrophysical environments and its interplay with magnetic fields is still highly debated. In this lecture, we will discuss this issue in the framework of dynamo processes. We will first present a very brief summary of turbulent

A Modular Bioinstructive Platform Reveals Mechanistic Insights into Additive‐Free, Topography‐Driven Osteogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered microparticle topographies direct human mesenchymal stem cell osteogenesis without biochemical additives. This osteogenic commitment is driven by canonical Hedgehog signaling and followed by temporal IGF‐II engagement. Two‐photon polymerization demonstrates spatial control, enabling the engineering of topographical gradients that pattern ...

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.

Isothermal amplification of long DNA fragments at low temperature by improved strand displacement amplification

open access: yesBioTechniques
Strand displacement amplification (SDA) is an isothermal amplification technique wherein amplification of a nucleic acid is initiated by nicking enzyme activity at sites flanking the target.

A Cryoprotectant‐Compatible Nanoporous Platform for Stable and Scalable Delivery of Biopharmaceuticals

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A cryoprotectant‐compatible nanoporous platform enables ambient‐stable and scalable delivery of gene editing therapeutics. By combining hierarchical pore architecture with optimized lyophilization chemistry, the system preserves Cas9‐RNP activity post‐freeze‐drying.

Research progress on application of novel isothermal amplification technology in waterborne pathogens detection

open access: yes环境与职业医学
Water resources are crucial for environmental protection and the health of humans, plants, and animals. Contamination of water by pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and protozoa can lead to outbreaks of various water-related infectious diseases, posing

Quasi-geometrical Optics Approximation in Gravitational Lensing

open access: yes, 2004
The gravitational lensing of gravitational waves should be treated in the wave optics instead of the geometrical optics when the wave length $\lambda$ of the gravitational waves is larger than the Schwarzschild radius of the lens mass $M$.

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.
