Possible therapeutic repositioning of valproic acid: From epileptic seizures to acute kidney injury

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Valproic acid, an anticonvulsant, may be repositioned to prevent acute kidney injury due to ischemia followed by reperfusion. It preserves renal functions, electrolyte homeostasis and active sodium transport in kidney tubules, and blocks the onset of hypertension.

Tailoring drug‐to‐lipid ratio in redox‐responsive lipid‐mimetic prodrug liposomes for superior cabazitaxel delivery and antitumor efficacy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Redox‐responsive lipid‐mimetic prodrug liposomes with high drug‐to‐lipid ratios enhance cabazitaxel delivery, prolong circulation, and enable tumor‐selective drug release for superior antitumor efficacy and safety. Abstract Liposomes represent one of the most extensively investigated nanocarriers in drug delivery.

Periodic solutions of isotone hybrid systems

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - B, 2013
Suggested by conversations in 1991 (Mark~Krasnosel'ski\u{\i} and Aleksei~Pokrovski\u{\i} with TIS), this paper generalizes earlier work (Krasnosel'ski\u{\i}-Pokrovski\u{\i} 1974) of theirs by defining a setting of hybrid systems with isotone switching rules for a partially ordered set of modes and then obtaining a periodicity result in that context. One‐Year Results of Accelerated Transepithelial Corneal Cross‐Linking for Progressive Keratoconus: A Prospective Interventional Study

open access: yesEye &ENT Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Keratoconus is a progressive corneal ectatic disorder. Accelerated transepithelial corneal cross‐linking (ATE‐CXL) aims to halt progression while preserving the epithelium, but evidence on its 12‐month efficacy requires further evaluation.

Analysis of the usefulness and benefits of ultrafiltration in cardiorenal syndrome: A systematic review

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1194-1202, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Cardiac decompensation in cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) results in systemic congestion usually treated with diuretics. When despite high doses of diuretics, response is poor, ultrafiltration (UF) appears to be a useful and safe technique.

Tracheal wash culture is not associated with bronchial infection, remodelling or inflammation in horses with asthma

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Antimicrobials are commonly prescribed for the treatment of equine asthma, despite limited evidence supporting their use. Tracheal wash (TW) bacterial culture results are known to influence antimicrobial prescription decisions. Objectives To determine whether a positive TW bacterial culture in horses with asthma is associated with ...

Dexmedetomidine infusions improve cardiovascular and renal function in anaesthetised, experimentally endotoxaemic horses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Dexmedetomidine infusions are beneficial in anaesthetised endotoxaemic horses when administered concurrent to endotoxin, but post‐conditioning effects are unknown. Objectives To evaluate whether a dexmedetomidine infusion is beneficial in horses administered Escherichia coli O55:B5 lipopolysaccharides (LPS) endotoxin prior to ...

The Use of Crystalloid Solutions in Fluid Therapy in Children (Literature Review)

open access: yesZdorovʹe Rebenka, 2016
Intravenous infusion therapy recently has a significant upward trend. Recommendations of M.A. Holliday, W.E. Segar included in the basis of fluid therapy led to predominant use of hypotonic solutions.
