Elasto-Capillary Folding Using Stop-Programmable Hinges Fabricated by 3D Micro-Machining. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
We show elasto-capillary folding of silicon nitride objects with accurate folding angles between flaps of (70.6 ± 0.1)° and demonstrate the feasibility of such accurate micro-assembly with a final folding angle of 90°.

Concentrator cell methodology in the regeneration and recycle of chromium etching solutions using membrane technology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The regeneration of chromium (VI) and the recovery of etched copper from chromium etching solutions by electrodialysis is improved by the addition of a concentrator cell, using ion exchange resins or activated carbon cloth as concentrator media, in the ...

High-Q trenched aluminum coplanar resonators with an ultrasonic edge microcutting for superconducting quantum devices

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Dielectric losses are one of the key factors limiting the coherence of superconducting qubits. The impact of materials and fabrication steps on dielectric losses can be evaluated using coplanar waveguide (CPW) microwave resonators.

Semi-isotropic surface etching of diamond using a Faraday cage

open access: yes, 2015
Etching of diamond is one of the most important process steps to realize diamond based devices. Isotropic etching in diamond yielding a high etch rate is challenging owing to its material properties.

Three-dimensional isotropic microfabrication in glass using spatiotemporal focusing of high-repetition-rate femtosecond laser pulses

open access: yesOpto-Electronic Advances, 2023
To improve the processing efficiency and extend the tuning range of 3D isotropic fabrication, we apply the simultaneous spatiotemporal focusing (SSTF) technique to a high-repetition-rate femtosecond (fs) fiber laser system. In the SSTF scheme, we propose

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Developing Barbed Microtip-Based Electrode Arrays for Biopotential Measurement

open access: yesSensors, 2014
This study involved fabricating barbed microtip-based electrode arrays by using silicon wet etching. KOH anisotropic wet etching was employed to form a standard pyramidal microtip array and HF/HNO3 isotropic etching was used to fabricate barbs on these ...
