Production and utilization of jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) in Uganda [PDF]
Jackfruit originated from East Asia, known to be the largest tree born fruit weighs up to 30kg and yields 50-80 tons per hectare annually. The fruit has large potential in Uganda and has been used in value added products on a small and rudimentary scale.

Jackfruit anaphylaxis in a latex allergic patient
Several fruits have been reported to crossreact with latex antigen in latex allergy patients but little is known regarding tropical fruits in particular. Here we report the case of a 34-year old nurse who developed anaphylaxis following the ingestion of dried jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus).

IL‐22Rα1 restrains pancreatic injury independently of its C‐terminal STAT3‐amplifying domain
IL‐22R, and to a lesser extent IL‐22, are key drivers of protection in acute pancreatitis. Although the C‐terminal domain of IL‐22R enhances STAT3 activation in the pancreas, it is not required for disease protection. Classical IL‐22R signaling alone is sufficient to control inflammation and promote pancreatic recovery.
