Bifurcation and chaos in simple jerk dynamical systems

Pramana, 2005
In recent years, it is observed that the third-order explicit autonomous differential equation, named as jerk equation, represents an interesting sub-class of dynamical systems that can exhibit many major features of the regular and chaotic motion. In this paper, we investigate the global dynamics of a special family of jerk systems {ie075-01}, whereG ...

A unique jerk system with hidden chaotic oscillation

Nonlinear Dynamics, 2016
An equilibrium-free piecewise linear jerk system is obtained by a signum operation based on the Sprott R system, which gives hidden oscillation of large basin of attraction. The new proposed chaotic system has a unique structure with an independent parameter for partial amplitude control, which experimentally can be realized in the circuit by a ...

Jerk and loss minimization in electric elevator systems

2014 International Conference on Circuits, Systems, Communication and Information Technology Applications (CSCITA), 2014
Elevator systems have become one of the main connected loads of the present era. This paper reports methods to make the elevator systems more comfortable and efficient. The comfort is assured by smoothening of the speed profile through predefined non-instantaneous jerk pattern.

Jerk limited time optimal control of multi-input systems

Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2003
A design method for determining control sequences for rest-to-rest maneuvers of flexible structures with multiple actuators and multiple resonant modes is described. The problem formulation. is based on a pole cancellation approach with constraints on both the magnitude and the time rate of change of the control inputs.

Chaotification of the Van der Pol System Using Jerk Architecture

IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, 2006
In this brief, a chaotic Jerk system is presented. This was obtained by converting the Van der Pol architecture into a third order differential equation, and, after the state-space representation was obtained, adding one innovation term and modifying some proportional parameters.

Modulation of the jaw jerk reflex by the sympathetic nervous system.

Archives italiennes de biologie, 1993
The effect of sympathetic stimulation on the jaw jerk reflex has been studied in precollicular decerebrate rabbits. This reflex was elicited by a downward mandibular movement applied to the lower jaw through a servo controlled puller. Unilateral stimulation of the cervical sympathetic nerve at 10/s consistently induced a decrease in the JJR, i.e.

Emergence of extreme events in a reduced jerk system

Physica Scripta
Abstract This study investigates the emergence of extreme events (EEs) in a simplified three-dimensional autonomous nonlinear jerk system characterized by chaotic and intermittent oscillations. Stability and bifurcation analyses reveal dynamic transitions under parameter variation.

A 4 MHz Chaotic Oscillator Based on a Jerk System

2017
Chaotic oscillators have a wide range of possible applications including random number generation (RNG), a stimulation source for characterization of MEMS devices, spread spectrum communications, and audio range and RF noise sources. Some distinct characteristics of chaotic systems include topological mixing, determinism, long-term aperiodic behavior ...
