Neuroprotective effects of quercetin in animal models of neurodegenerative diseases: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease are characterized by progressive neuronal loss driven by oxidative stress and inflammation. Quercetin, a dietary flavonoid with established antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory properties, has emerged as a potential neuroprotective agent.

Combined Effects of Puerarin and Adipose‐Derived Stem Cells on Alveolar Bone Preservation and Inflammation Control in Periodontitis Through p38MAPK Modulation

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the effects of puerarin and adipose‐derived stem cells (ADSCs), alone or combined, on p38MAPK activity, alveolar bone preservation, and inflammatory responses in a rat periodontitis (PD) model and in vitro. ADSCs were exposed to various puerarin concentrations to assess cell proliferation, osteogenic differentiation, and ...

Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Phosphatase-5 is Required for TGF-β Signaling Through a JNK-Dependent Pathway

open access: yesMolecular and Cellular Biology
Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) phosphatases (MKPs) constitute members of the dual-specificity family of protein phosphatases that dephosphorylate the MAPKs. MKP-5 dephosphorylates the stress-responsive MAPKs, p38 MAPK and JNK, and has been shown to promote tissue fibrosis.

Small‐Molecule Kinase Inhibitors Modulating Circadian Rhythms

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The circadian clock mechanism generates 24‐h rhythms crucial for regulating various physiological processes, and its dysregulation has been implicated in numerous diseases. In cells, the circadian clock operates through a transcriptional‐translational feedback loop, where phosphorylation plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate circadian ...

On the role of ras and BRF1 in the regulation of ARE-dependent mRNA-turnover [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Stability of the mRNAs of cytokines, chemokines, growth-factors, protooncogenes and others are regulated via an AU-rich element (ARE) in their 3’ untranslated region (UTR).

A non-redundant role for Drosophila Mkk4 and hemipterous/Mkk7 in TAK1-mediated activation of JNK.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2009
BackgroundThe JNK pathway is a mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase pathway involved in the regulation of numerous physiological processes during development and in response to environmental stress. JNK activity is controlled by two MAPK kinases (MAPKK)

Nigericin‐Triggered Phosphodynamics in Inflammasome Formation and Pyroptosis

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Innate immune signaling relies heavily on phosphorylation cascades to mount effective immune responses. Although traditional innate immune signaling cascades following TLR4 stimulation have been investigated through a temporally quantitative phosphoproteomic lens, far fewer studies have applied these methods to distinct signaling following the
