含运动副间隙的双万向节系统动力学研究

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2012
The solid model of the system of double cardan joint is built through Pro/Engineer,then it is imported into ADAMS to take the dynamic simulation analysis. For the model which does not contain joint clearance, the proper restrain is added according to ...

The skills required for transition to university and study in biological sciences: A student perspective

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

Effects of revolute clearance joint on the dynamic behavior of a planar space arm system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Space arm system is a typical multibody mechanical system requiring high operation stability and precision connected by kinematic joints. As joint clearance is inevitable during the manufacturing and mounting process, it turns into a critical problem ...

POLYCENTRIC EXOPROSTHETIC KNEE JOINTS – EXTENT OF SHORTENING DURING SWING PHASE

open access: yesCanadian Prosthetics & Orthotics Journal, 2020
BACKGROUND: An often assumed advantage of polycentric knee joints compared to monocentric ones is the improved ground clearance during swing phase due to the geometric shortening of the lower leg segment (LLS).

Effect of joint clearance on fatigue strength of brazed joint.

open access: yesQUARTERLY JOURNAL OF THE JAPAN WELDING SOCIETY, 1989
The effects of joint clearance on fatigue crack initiation life and crack growth rate of brazed joint were investigated.Tes tspecimens used were butt joint of carbon stcel and stainless steel brazed with pure copper with/without an artificial defect in joint. It was inferred from the fatigue test results that fatigue life of joint depend not on crack ...

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Effect of Brazing Clearance on Microstructure and Strength of Welded Joint of 316L Stainless Steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
To study the effect of brazing clearance and temperature on strength and microstructure, vacuum brazing of 316L stainless steel was carried out with BNi-2 nickel-based solder. Choose the different brazing clearance to be processed at 1070°C, analyzed the

How phagocytic cells kill bacteria: Lessons from a professional killer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
How phagocytic cells ingest and kill bacteria has been studied for more than a century, but many questions remain unanswered. The study of the amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum brings new answers, and new questions. Professional phagocytic cells such as neutrophils and macrophages, as well as free‐living soil amoebae like Dictyostelium discoideum, employ

Identification of (20R)‐protopanaxadiol from Panax ginseng as a novel anti‐SARS‐CoV‐2 compound

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We established a noninfectious BAC‐based SARS‐CoV‐2 replicon that enables antiviral screening under BSL‐2 conditions. Using this platform, we screened 373 food‐derived compounds and identified (20R)‐protopanaxadiol from Panax ginseng as a novel inhibitor of SARS‐CoV‐2 RNA replication, highlighting the value of safe replicon systems for antiviral ...
