Bruise detection on ‘Jonagold’ apples using hyperspectral imaging

Postharvest Biology and Technology, 2005
Abstract A hyperspectral imaging system has been built within the wavelength range of 400–1000 nm for detecting bruises on ‘Jonagold’ apples. A total of 160 apples, i.e., sound ( n  = 65), impact bruise ( n  = 80) and drop bruise ( n  = 15) were analysed.

Automatic defect identification and grading system for ‘Jonagold’ apples

2016 Second International Conference on Cognitive Computing and Information Processing (CCIP), 2016
A method to grade ‘Jonagold’ apples based on features extracted from defects is described. Database consisting of multi-spectral images of Jonagold apples is used for the work. Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method is used for defect segmentation, features from defect part is extracted using Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) method and Apple ...

THINNING OF 'JONAGOLD' AND 'ELSTAR' APPLES WITH THE COMBINATION OF ETHEPHON AND CPPU

Acta Horticulturae, 2004
The combined spraying of ethephon with synthetic cytokinin forchlorfenuron (CPPU) was investigated on seven-year-old ‘Jonagold’ and ‘Elstar’ apple trees / M.9. The application of ethephon a few times after petal fall (PF) at low concentration was aimed to enhance return bloom without affecting fruitlet abscission.

Control of enzymatic browning in dried apples Jonagold variety

2006
Many food products undergo various desired and undesired changes as a consequence of enzymatic and nonenzymatic reactions. Both reactions often lead to browning and deterioration of the quality of foods. One of the objectives of fruits and vegetables processing industry is to prevent enzymatic browning on cut surface of fresh fruits and vegetables, as ...

USE OF CHEMICAL BLOSSOM THINNERS IN 'JERSEYMAC' AND 'JONAGOLD' APPLES

2012
The effects of flower thinning agents as ATS (1.0%, 2.0%, 3.0%) and Dormex (0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%) on some fruit characteristics and return bloom were evaluated to create alternatives for hand fruit thinning. Chemical thinning treatments were applied at full bloom, and also hand fruit thinning was done after June drop in six years old apple trees of ...
