Low Temperature Junction Formation for EZ-FET

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society
The EZ-FET is a device with simplified architecture and processing that enables fast electrical characterization of semiconductor films on insulators (SOI) with only two lithography levels and using regular process steps.

Vibrational cooling, heating, and instability in molecular conducting junctions: Full counting statistics analysis

open access: yes, 2012
We study current-induced vibrational cooling, heating, and instability in a donor-acceptor rectifying molecular junction using a full counting statistics approach.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Modelling of Solar Cell Junction Temperature for Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Module

open access: yesSiliconPV Conference Proceedings
Determination of the junction temperature of solar cells is critical for accurately evaluating on-site performance of solar modules. It is difficult to acquire the junction temperature of cells because solar cells are laminated and encapsulated in ...

Evidence for a New Excitation at the Interface Between a High-Tc Superconductor and a Topological Insulator

open access: yes, 2014
High-temperature superconductors exhibit a wide variety of novel excitations. If contacted with a topological insulator, the lifting of spin rotation symmetry in the surface states can lead to the emergence of unconventional superconductivity and novel ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Topology-Induced Critical Current Enhancement in Josephson Networks

open access: yes, 2006
We investigate the properties of Josephson junction networks with inhomogeneous architecture. The networks are shaped as "quare comb" planar lattices on which Josephson junctions link superconducting islands arranged in the plane to generate the ...

Insights into a long life without cancer: The case of the bowhead whale

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Long‐lived, large‐bodied organisms have evolved powerful anticancer mechanisms that preserve cellular and tissue integrity across extended lifespans. A recent study by Firsanov et al. shows that greater genome stability is a key factor underlying the remarkable longevity and cancer resistance of one such species, the bowhead whale.
