Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

A Just Transition

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Workplace Innovation
Responding to the climate emergency, governments have pledged to deliver a net zero future. Delivery requires more green jobs and a just transition of good jobs and labour market inclusivity. The problem is that there is no agreed methodology for classifying green jobs.

Temperature Dependence of the Flux Line Lattice Transition into Square Symmetry in Superconducting LuNi$_2$B$_2$C

open access: yes, 2001
We have investigated the temperature dependence of the H || c flux line lattice structural phase transition from square to hexagonal symmetry, in the tetragonal superconductor LuNi_2B_2C (T_c = 16.6 K).

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

New high magnetic field phase of the frustrated $S=1/2$ chain compound LiCuVO$_4$

open access: yes, 2010
Magnetization of the frustrated $S=1/2$ chain compound LiCuVO$_4$, focusing on high magnetic field phases, is reported. Besides a spin-flop transition and the transition from a planar spiral to a spin modulated structure observed recently, an additional ...

Derivation of the Semi-circle Law from the Law of Corresponding States [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We show that, for the transition between any two quantum Hall states, the semi-circle law and the existence of a duality symmetry follow solely from the consistency of the law of corresponding states with the two-dimensional scaling flow. This puts these

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
