Qualifications and Gender It is a myth that the universities as a system unconditionally recruit the academically best-qualified researchers. The priorities in the research system is determined by a range of - partly externally given - system ...

Landscape of genetic lesions in 944 patients with myelodysplastic syndromes

open access: yesLeukemia, 2013
High-throughput DNA sequencing significantly contributed to diagnosis and prognostication in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). We determined the biological and prognostic significance of genetic aberrations in MDS.

Oreocharis konkakinhensis (Gesneriaceae) sp. nov. from the Central Highlands, Vietnam

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Oreocharis konkakinhensis, a new species of Gesneriaceae, is described and illustrated from the Central Highlands, Vietnam. The new species is morphologically most similar to Oreocharis phuongii, a recently described species from central Vietnam. However, it clearly differs from the latter by having stems without stolons, subulate bracts, yellow inner ...

An Interferon-Inducible Neutrophil-Driven Blood Transcriptional Signature in Human Tuberculosis

open access: yesNature, 2010
Tuberculosis (TB), caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Efforts to control it are hampered by difficulties with diagnosis, prevention and treatment.

Disarming the Hsp70–Bim Alliance: Small‐Molecule and Peptidic Disruptors of a Chaperone‐Apoptotic Switch in Cancer

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
Targeting a nucleotide‐sensitive groove on Hsp70 that binds the Bim BH3 helix, we integrate structures, biophysics, and SAR from peptides, fragments, and phenalene‐dicarbonitrile “wedges.” These disrupt the Hsp70–Bim complex with sub‐µM cellular engagement and in vivo activity while sparing Hsp90/mortalin.

Rehabilitation and return to activity after platelet‐rich plasma injections in chronic tendinopathies: Consensus from international experts

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The effectiveness of platelet‐rich plasma (PRP) injections in chronic tendinopathies remains debated. Although the product's characteristics play a role, the impact of postinjection recommendations remains poorly investigated. Objective To establish principles and guidelines for post‐PRP injection rehabilitation and return to ...

A minimal physiologically‐based pharmacokinetic modeling platform to predict intratumor exposure and receptor occupancy of an anti‐LAG‐3 monoclonal antibody

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 460-473, March 2025.
Abstract In oncology drug development, measuring drug concentrations at the tumor site and at the targeted receptor remains an ongoing challenge. Positron emission tomography (PET)‐imaging is a promising noninvasive method to quantify intratumor exposure of a radiolabeled drug (biodistribution data) and target saturation by treatment doses in vivo ...

Hybrid GNN and temporal encoder models for flood forecasting in the Vu Gia–Thu Bon River Basin

open access: yesRiver, EarlyView.
Abstract Flood forecasting in river networks requires models that can capture both spatial dependencies across river basins and the temporal dynamics of hydrological processes. This study proposes a hybrid approach combining Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) with temporal sequence models, such as Long Short‐Term Memory (LSTM) networks and Transformer ...
