Structural themes of cereblon‐recruiting degraders: selected recent examples

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section F, EarlyView.
Structural studies of cereblon‐recruiting degrader complexes have transformed our understanding of targeted protein degradation. This review discusses selected examples of how X‐ray crystallography and cryogenic‐electron microscopy have enabled the structure‐guided optimization of heterobifunctional degraders and molecular‐glue degraders.

Comparative Intumescent Features of Cotton Textiles Treated with Alkaline and Acidic Casein Suspension

open access: yes
The objective of present study was to investigate the effect of coating of different concentrations and pH of aqueous casein suspension on thermo-oxidative properties and intumescent flame retardant behavior of cotton fabrics.

Impact of Autoclaving and Long‐Term Storage on Bacterially Available Glutamine Sources in Complex Media

open access: yesMicrobiology and Immunology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Free glutamine is unstable in aqueous solution and rapidly degrades at elevated temperatures. In complex microbiological media, glutamine may exist in free and peptide‐bound forms; however, how autoclaving and prolonged storage affect bacterially available glutamine sources remains unclear.

Low‐Concentration Mineralization‐Promoting Peptide‐3–Containing Slurries Compared With Casein Phosphopeptide–Amorphous Calcium Phosphate on Demineralized Permanent Enamel: An Exploratory Ex Vivo Study

open access: yesAustralian Dental Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Casein phosphopeptide–amorphous calcium phosphate is a biomimetic remineralizing agent but is unsuitable for individuals with a milk‐protein allergy. This exploratory ex vivo study compared low‐concentration slurries containing mineralization‐promoting peptide‐3, sodium fluoride plus mineralization‐promoting peptide‐3, vehicle cream

Lewy bodies are surrounded by granulovacuolar degeneration bodies in dementia with Lewy bodies

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Here, we report Lewy bodies (LBs) to be enriched for tau‐laden granulovacuolar degeneration bodies (GVBs), suggesting a potential mechanistic interface between α‐synuclein and tau pathology in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). Abstract Lewy bodies (LBs), composed primarily of aggregated α‐synuclein (α‐syn), are the pathological hallmark of Lewy body ...
