Kaempferol triosides from Reseda muricata

Phytochemistry, 2001
A flavonoid trioside and its coumaryl ester together with seven known flavonoids and five phenolic acids were isolated from the leaves of Reseda muricata. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including UV, FAB MS, 1H, 13C and 2D-NMR, DEPT, HMBC and HMQC experiments.

Kaempferol glycosides from Siparuna apiosyce

Phytochemistry, 2000
The kaempferol derivative 3,7-di-O-methyl-4'-O-beta-[alpha rhamnosyl (1 --> 6)]-glucopyranoside (siparunoside) was isolated from the leaves of Sparuna apiosyce. Its structure was established by extensive NMR studies. The alkaloids reticuline and liriodenine were also isolated from the leaves along with the kaempferol derivative tiliroside ...

Kaempferol and atherosclerosis: From mechanism to medicine

Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, 2022
Natural products possess pleiotropic cardiovascular protective effects owing to their anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation and anti-thrombotic properties. Kaempferol, (3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one), is a kind of naturally occurring flavonoid existing in many common fruits and vegetables (e.g., onions, broccoli, strawberries ...

Kaempferol glycosides from Hosta ventricosa

Phytochemistry, 1990
Leaves of Hosta ventricosa yielded eight kaempferol glycosides, of which six: the 3-(2G-glucosylrutinoside)-7-glucoside, 3-sophoroside-7-glucoside, 3-rutinoside-7-glucoside, 3-(2G-glucosylrutinoside), 3-sophoroside, 3-rutinoside were fully characterized and two: the 3-xylosylrutinoside-7-glucoside and 3-xylosylrutinoside were tentatively identified ...

Antiatherogenic Effects of Kaempferol and Rhamnocitrin

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2007
Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the arterial wall. Kaempferol and rhamnocitrin (kaempferol 7-O-methyl ether) are two anti-inflammatory flavonoids commonly found in plants. The aim of this study is to investigate the function of kaempferol and rhamnocitrin on prevention of atherosclerosis.

Kaempferol: A Dietary Flavonol in Alleviating Obesity

Current Pharmaceutical Design, 2023
Abstract: Obesity is considered as a chronic and high-prevalence disease on a global scale which affects all genders and ages. Although various drugs have been confirmed for the treatment of obesity, these medications have been shown to have a number of adverse effects on health.

Kaempferol inhibits myosin light chain kinase

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1989
Kaempferol, 3,5,7-trihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one, was found to inhibit bovine aorta myosin light chain kinase with a Ki of 0.3-0.5 microM. It was found to be competitive with ATP and non-competitive with isolated myosin light chains.

Kaempferol inhibits thrombosis and platelet activation

Biochimie, 2015
The objectives of the present study were to investigate whether kaempferol affects pro-coagulant proteinase activity, fibrin clot formation, blood clot and thrombin (or collagen/epinephrine)-stimulated platelet activation, thrombosis, and coagulation in ICR (Imprinting Control Region) mice and SD (Sprague-Dawley) rats.

Kaempferol Complexation in Cyclodextrins at Basic pH

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2010
The complexation of kaempferol with cyclodextrins (CDs) (beta-, G(2)-beta-, and HP-beta-CDs) in basic medium was studied, and the complexation constants (K(c)) were calculated by using enzymatic, solubility, and fluorometric methods. This is the first time that a decrease in fluorescence has been observed as result of the analyte complexation by CDs ...

Radiolysis of Kaempferol in Water/Methanol Mixtures. Evaluation of Antioxidant Activity of Kaempferol and Products Formed

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2003
Oxidative reaction between hydroxymethyl radical ((*)CH(2)OH) and kaempferol, in methanol and methanol/water mixtures, was studied by gamma-radiolysis using a (60)Co source. Radiolysis was performed with concentrations and doses ranging from 5 x 10(-)(5) M to 5 x 10(-)(3) M and from 0.5 kGy to 14 kGy, respectively.
