Phases of crown-gall transformation susceptible to hydroxyurea

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
With the use of bacterial strains, both sensitive and resistant to hydroxyurea the action of this inhibitor on tumour formation on the leaves of Kalanchoe daigremontiana infected with Agrobacterium tumefaciens was tested for five days after inoculation ...

Powerful yet challenging: mechanistic niche models for predicting invasive species potential distribution under climate change

open access: yesEcography, Volume 2026, Issue 5, May 2026.
Risk assessments of invasive species present one of the most challenging applications of species distribution models (SDMs) due to the fundamental issues of distributional disequilibrium, niche changes, and truncation. Invasive species often occupy only a fraction of their potential environmental and geographic ranges, as their spatiotemporal dynamics ...

Effects of KCN, SHAM and Oxygen Concentrations on Respiratory Properties of Purified Mitochondria Isolated from Ananas comosus (Pineapple) and Kalanchoë daigremontiana

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2005
Effects of potassium cyanide (KCN), salicylhydroxamic acid (SHAM), and oxygen concentrations on mitochondrial respiration were investigated in purified mitochondria of a typical phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PCK) crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM ...

A Highly Stable Zinc‐Mimosinate Metal–Organic Framework for Controlled Agrochemical Delivery

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 11, 15 April 2026.
The graphical abstract illustrates the design of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) as agrochemicals constructed from active building blocks. The highly robust GR‐MOF‐25 is assembled from the natural herbicide L‐mimosine and Zn2+ ions, combining herbicidal, micronutrient, and antibacterial properties.

β‐Amyrin synthase from Conyza blinii expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 7, Issue 10, Page 1575-1585, October 2017., 2017
Conyzasaponins, an oleanane‐type saponin, are the main pharmacological components of medicinal herb Conyza blinii H.Lév. β‐Amyrin synthase (βAS), a key enzyme in oleanane‐type saponin biosynthesis pathway, mediates cyclization of 2,3‐oxidosqualene to yield the saponin precursor β‐amyrin. In this study, we isolated a novel βAS from C. blinii.

Immunomodulating and Revascularizing Activity of Kalanchoe pinnata Synergize with Fungicide Activity of Biogenic Peptide Cecropin P1

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
Previously transgenic Kalanchoe pinnata plants producing an antimicrobial peptide cecropin P1 (CecP1) have been reported. Now we report biological testing K. pinnata extracts containing CecP1 as a candidate drug for treatment of wounds infected with Candida albicans. The drug constitutes the whole juice from K.

Agrobacterium vitis strains lack tumorigenic ability on in vitro grown grapevine stem segments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Grapevine stem segments were cocultivated with three different Agrobacterium tumefaciens and three different A. vitis strains. A. tumefaciens strains induced tumors at variable frequencies, while A.
