Isolation and Amino Acid Composition of Para-Kappa-Casein

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1969
Abstract One major and two minor para-κ -casein components were isolated after rennin treatment from each of two genetic variants of κ -casein (A and B) by carboxy-methyl cellulose chromatography. Homocitrullin was present only in the minor components, while the major component was richer in lysine.

Kappa casein gen (CSN3) in horse: genetic variability in exon 1 and 4

open access: yesActa agriculturae Slovenica, 2006
Kappa casein (κ-CN) is milk protein that determines the size and specific function of the caseinmicelles, and its clevage by chymosine is responsible for milk coagulation. Any variation in genepromoter or coding sequence may change the expression of the gene or amino acid sequence, effecting functional properties of the protein.

Feeding Behaviours in Families With Children or Young People With Autism: A Systematic Review

open access: yesNutrition Bulletin, Volume 51, Issue 3, Page 285-321, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Children and young people with autism often experience feeding difficulties and are at increased risk of food insecurity. However, the interplay between these challenges remains underexplored. This systematic review aimed to synthesise existing evidence on the prevalence and characteristics of feeding behaviours in families with children with ...

Difference spectra of bovine .KAPPA.-casein with urea.

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1977
Bovine κ-casein showed a typical CD spectrum for an aperiodic conformation in the far UV region. The comparison of the near UV absorption spectrum of native κ-casein with that of a model compound mixture (Ac-tyr-OEt+Ac-trp-OEt, molar ratio=9: 1) showed a red shift of the former by 2 nm to the longer wavelength.

Studies on the kappa -casein from Bubalus bubalis.

open access: yes, 1978
kappa -Casein, prepared from Surti buffaloes' milk by the method of McKenzie & Wake [DSA 23, 1448] and using a gradient of 0-0.15 M NaCl, was fractionated into 5 distinct components on DEAE-cellulose chromatography in the presence of mercaptoethanol ...
