Protein interactions at the higher plant nuclear envelope: evidence for a Linker of Nucleoskeleton and Cytoskeleton complex.

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2014
Following the description of SAD1/UNC84 (SUN) domain proteins in higher plants, evidence has rapidly increased that plants contain a functional Linker of Nucleoskeleton and Cytoskeleton (LINC) complex bridging the nuclear envelope (NE).

Pulping of bagasse (Saccrarum officinarum), kash (Saccharum spontaneum) and corn stalks (Zea mays)

open access: yesCurrent Research in Green and Sustainable Chemistry, 2020
Bangladesh being a small and populated country faces shortage of fibrous raw materials. The only bagasse-based pulp mill was forced to close down due to inadequate supply of bagasse. In this context, similar alternative raw materials need to be evaluated

A Role for Plant KASH Proteins in Regulating Stomatal Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 2019
Stomatal movement, which regulates gas exchange in plants, is controlled by a variety of environmental factors, including biotic and abiotic stresses. The stress hormone abscisic acid (ABA) initiates a signaling cascade, which leads to increased H2O2 and Ca2+ levels and F-actin reorganization, but the mechanism of, and connection between, these events ...

Frequency of anti‐neural antibodies and autoimmune epilepsy in focal epilepsy of unknown etiology: An observational study in a Singaporean cohort

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Autoimmune epilepsy (AES) is increasingly recognized as a condition in patients with epilepsy of unknown etiology. Early immunotherapy improves outcomes; however, data on its prevalence and the frequency of anti‐neural/neuronal antibodies in Asian populations remain scarce.

The crystal structure of SUN1-KASH6 reveals an asymmetric LINC complex architecture compatible with nuclear membrane insertion

open access: yesCommunications Biology
The LINC complex transmits cytoskeletal forces into the nucleus to control the structure and movement of nuclear contents. It is formed of nuclear SUN and cytoplasmic KASH proteins, which interact within the nuclear lumen, immediately below the outer ...

Sperm Head–Tail Coupling Apparatus Diversity and Common Themes Among Species

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background A stable connection between the sperm head (containing the nucleus and acrosome) and tail (containing the axoneme, mitochondrial sheath, and periaxonemal structures) is critical for fertility. This connection is mediated by a series of nuclear, cytoplasmic, and centriole components that make up the head–tail coupling apparatus (HTCA)

Enhancing Temporal Knowledge Graph for Future Event Prediction with Long-Term Dense Graph

open access: yesTsinghua Science and Technology
Temporal knowledge graph (TKG) reasoning has emerged as a pivotal approach in event prediction. An important yet challenging task in TKG reasoning is to predict future events by extrapolating from historical events and their correlations.

Harvesting a new KASH crop [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 2014
![Figure][1] SINE2 (green) localizes to the nuclear envelope in a wild-type plant (left) but is mostly cytoplasmic in the absence of SUN proteins (right). Zhou et al. reveal that plants express diverse KASH-like proteins that perform discrete functions at the outer nuclear membrane ...

Validating Visual Stimuli of Nature Images and Identifying the Representative Characteristics

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
This study fills a void in the literature by both validating images of nature for use in future research experiments and examining which characteristics of these visual stimuli are found to be most representative of nature.

Lubricating Role of Supply Chain Vertical Common Ownership in the Breakthrough of Key Core Technology: Evidence and Policy Implications From China

open access: yesAsia &the Pacific Policy Studies, Volume 13, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This study explores whether and how vertical common ownership along the supply chain plays a lubricating role in key core technology breakthroughs. Using a dataset of Chinese listed companies from 2007 to 2023, we find that vertical common institutional ownership significantly promotes the breakthrough of key core technology.
