Surface passivation of (100) GaSb using self-assembled monolayers of long-chain octadecanethiol
The passivation of (100) GaSb surface was investigated by means of the long-chain octadecanethiol (ODT) self-assembled monolayer (SAM). The properties of ODT SAM on (100) GaSb were characterized by the atomic force microscopy using Kelvin probe force ...

Vickers Hardness of Diamond and cBN Single Crystals: AFM Approach
Atomic force microscopy in different operation modes (topography, derivative topography, and phase contrast) was used to obtain 3D images of Vickers indents on the surface of diamond and cBN single crystals with high spatial resolution.

Using femtosecond ablation, we show that an ordered, stoichiometric crystalline PdSe2 target can be controllably converted into a stable, disordered, non‐stoichiometric, and highly functional amorphous nanomaterial, PdSe2−x${\rm PdSe}_{2-x}$. The obtained nanoparticles offer significant advantages over conventional planar plasmon‐free substrates due to

Combined scanning probe electronic and thermal characterization of an indium arsenide nanowire
As electronic devices are downsized, physical processes at the interface to electrodes may dominate and limit device performance. A crucial step towards device optimization is being able to separate such contact effects from intrinsic device properties ...

Polarized Tips or Surfaces: Consequences in Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy
In this work, we present non-contact atomic force microscopy (nc-AFM) and Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) simulations of the (001) surface of silver and supported MgO thin films. From the calculated force spectroscopy, we predict atomic resolution at tip-surface distances of less than 5 A.

Site‐Selective Polyvinylpyrrolidone Adsorption Behavior for 3D Heterogeneous Integration
Site‐selective adsorption behavior is presented with polyvinylpyrrolidone on a Cu/SiO2 pattern wafer, which enables 3D heterogeneous integration. Owing to the site‐selective adsorption behavior and its corresponding electrostatic interaction between SiO2 nanoparticles and the Cu surface, the selectivity of Cu/SiO2 is arbitrarily controlled ...
