Covalent Organic Frameworks for Water Sorption: The Importance of Framework Physical Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the water‐vapor stability of 2D covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with varying pore sizes. Results reveal microporous COFs demonstrate superior stability compared to mesoporous ones, despite lower water uptake. Mesoporous keto‐enamine‐linked COFs show enhanced stability due to intralayer hydrogen bonds, confirmed by simulations and

Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 9 Induces Platelet-Derived Transforming Growth Factor-<i>β</i> to Promote Myocardial Fibrosis After Myocardial Infarction. [PDF]

open access: yesHum Mutat
Aims The recovery of cardiac function after acute myocardial infarction is crucial for the prognosis of patients with myocardial infarction. Proprotein convertase subtilisin/Kexin Type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors are widely used in patients with acute myocardial infarction due to their potent low‐density lipoprotein‐lowering effects. Recent studies have shown

Potent Liver‐Tropic mRNA Lipid Nanoparticles: ApoE‐Mediated Delivery Through a Low‐Density Lipoprotein Receptor Independent Uptake Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Helper and ionizable lipids play a crucial role in determining ApoE binding and subsequent liver tropism and LDLR‐mediated uptake. Ionizable lipids primarily govern the LDLR‐independent uptake pathway. This complementary interplay between lipid components ultimately governs LNP delivery performance and therapeutic efficacy in the liver.

A Microfluidic Digital Shutter of Liquid–Liquid Interface for Fabrication of Multifaceted Hydrogel Microfiber Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A programmable passive digital shutter based on multiphase liquid–liquid interface dynamics is introduced for precise fabrication of hydrogel microfibers. By modulating the shutter operation, microfibers with tunable geometry—including linear, helical, tadpole‐like, and spherical forms—are produced.

Soybean Auxin Transporter PIN3 Regulates Nitrate Acquisition to Improve Nitrogen Use and Seed Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Xu et al. discovers that switching off auxin transporters in soybean, PIN3a and PIN3b, disrupts auxin flow; this triggers ARF‐STF3/4 signal cascade to activate the nitrate importer NPF2.13 and soil nitrogen acquisition. Multi‐year field trials show edited soybeans maintain yield with higher oil content, offering a potential genetic route to improve ...

Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 in kidney disease

open access: yesNephrology Dialysis Transplantation, 2019
Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with a substantially increased risk for the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular (CV) disease. Accordingly, CV mortality is increased even in the earliest stages of CKD. In the general population and in CKD patients, high plasma levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol ...

Reprogramming M2b Macrophages via GPX1 Activation by Selenium Nanoparticles Attenuates Lupus Nephritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SeZM NPs selectively target M2b macrophages through mannose–MRC1 (CD206) recognition, enhance GPX1 biosynthesis, and suppress mitochondrial ROS generation, oxidative stress, and JAK–STAT signaling. This dual regulation reduces pro‐inflammatory cytokine release, limits immune cell infiltration and fibrosis, and preserves renal function, providing a ...

Single‐Cell Dissection of Tumor‐Infiltrating Lymphocytes Reveals Cellular Architecture Predictive of Therapeutic Efficacy in Acral Melanoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Autologous tumor‐infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy shows promising efficacy in acral melanoma, yet determinants of durable response remain unclear. By integrating single‐cell transcriptomics and TCR sequencing, this study reveals that TIL products enriched for T follicular helper and intermediate exhausted T cells establish persistent clonal ...
