Biionic potentials in the proximal tubule of Necturus kidney [PDF]
1. Biionic potentials were studied in the proximal tubule of the doubly perfused Necturus kidney and subsequently analysed by means of an equivalent electrical circuit.2. Luminal membrane resistance was found to be at least 3 times greater than peritubular membrane resistance.3.

This non‑enzymatic function of DHODH drives sunitinib resistance by competing with TRIM37 to block TRIM28 ubiquitination, thereby stabilizing TRIM28 and activating VEGFA transcription. Disrupting the DHODH–TRIM28 interaction with lisaftoclax restores drug sensitivity.

TIGAR regulates glycolysis in ischemic kidney proximal tubules [PDF]
Tp53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator (TIGAR) activation blocks glycolytic ATP synthesis by inhibiting phosphofructokinase-1 activity. Our data indicate that TIGAR is selectively induced and activated in renal outermedullary proximal straight tubules (PSTs) after ischemia-reperfusion injury in a p53-dependent manner.

This study introduces β‐glucan‐shielded apremilast laden nanomicelles that withstand gastrointestinal degradation, selectively accumulate in inflamed colon tissue, and modulate the microbiota–gut–brain axis. The formulation restores barrier integrity, reduces systemic and neuroinflammation, and improves anxiety‐ and depression‐like behaviors in colitis

Mitochondrial and metabolic dysfunction in renal convoluted tubules of obese mice: protective role of melatonin. [PDF]
Obesity is a common and complex health problem, which impacts crucial organs; it is also considered an independent risk factor for chronic kidney disease.

Ischemia‐reperfusion reduces Sirt6 activity, thereby increasing Miro1 acetylation. Hyperacetylated Miro1 exhibits perinuclear distribution and degradation, thereby inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and promoting apoptosis in renal tubular epithelial cells. This pathway reveals a mechanistic link between Sirt6‐mediated deacetylation and Miro1 stability

The aim of this research was to assess the reactive changes of rat proximal tubules caused by gentamicin and the effect of relatively low doses of melatonin. 48 adult male Wistar rats were distributed into six groups of equal size which all received one
