Retrievals of chlorine chemistry kinetic parameters from Antarctic ClO microwave radiometer measurements [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2011
Key kinetic parameters governing the partitioning of chlorine species in the Antarctic polar stratosphere were retrieved from 28 days of chlorine monoxide (ClO) microwave radiometer measurements made during the late winter/early spring of 2005 at Scott ...

Effects of Biological Sex and Age on Cerebrospinal Fluid Markers—A Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis is a key diagnostic tool for neurological diseases. To date, only a few studies have investigated in larger cohorts the effect of age and biological sex on diagnostic markers extracted from CSF. Methods For this retrospective observational study, 4163 CSF findings (2012–2020) were evaluated.

Kinetic screening of nucleic acid ligand libraries for hit identification, binding mode characterization, and sequence optimization

open access: yesSensing and Bio-Sensing Research
Binding and unbinding rates are important characteristics of molecular interactions as they dictate binding affinities and complex lifetimes. Particularly, the engineering and maturation of nucleic acid-based ligands for therapeutic or diagnostic ...

Development and Application of a High Throughput Protein Unfolding Kinetic Assay. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The kinetics of folding and unfolding underlie protein stability and quantification of these rates provides important insights into the folding process.

Densitometry and Thermometry of Starburst Galaxies

open access: yes, 2011
With a goal toward deriving the physical conditions in external galaxies, we present a survey of formaldehyde (H2CO) and ammonia (NH3) emission and absorption in a sample of starburst galaxies using the Green Bank Telescope. By extending well-established

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Magnetic measurements and kinetic energy of the superconducting condensate in SmBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}

open access: yes, 2012
We report in-field kinetic energy results in the temperature region closely below the transition temperature of two differently prepared polycrystalline samples of the superconducting cuprate SmBa$_{\text{2}}$Cu$_{\text{3}}$O$_{7-\delta}$.

Dehydration mechanism of a small molecular solid: 5-nitrouracil hydrate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Previous studies of the dehydration of 5-nitrouracil (5NU) have resulted in it being classified as a ‘‘channel hydrate’’ in which dehydration proceeds principally by the exit of the water molecules along channels in the structure.

Trace Nickel Activated Biphasic Core‐CuOii/Shell‐CuOi Secondary Microspheres Enable Room Temperature Parts‐Per‐Trillion‐Level NO2 Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

An absorbance method for analysis of enzymatic degradation kinetics of poly(ethylene terephthalate) films

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Increased interest in poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET)-degrading enzymes (PETases) have generated efforts to find mutants with improved catalytic activity and thermostability.
