Study the Interaction Adsorptive Behavior of Sunset Yellow Dye and Loratadine Drug: Kinetics and Thermodynamics Study

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2023
The performance of drug treatment and assessments of different drugs' side effects both can be affected by the interaction between food additives and drugs. Organic compounds such as food colorants dyes are utilized as additives in a wide range of foods.

Recruitment kinetics of DNA repair proteins Mdc1 and Rad52 but not 53BP1 depend on damage complexity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The recruitment kinetics of double-strand break (DSB) signaling and repair proteins Mdc1, 53BP1 and Rad52 into radiation-induced foci was studied by live-cell fluorescence microscopy after ion microirradiation.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Binding hotspots of BAZ2B bromodomain:histone interaction revealed by solution NMR driven docking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Bromodomains are epigenetic reader domains, which have come under increasing scrutiny both from academic and pharmaceutical research groups. Effective targeting of the BAZ2B bromodomain by small molecule inhibitors has been recently reported, but no ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Thermodynamics-Kinetics-Balanced Metal–Organic Framework for In-Depth Radon Removal under Ambient Conditions

open access: yes, 2022
Radon (Rn), a ubiquitous radioactive noble gas, is the main source of natural radiation to human and one of the major culprits for lung cancer. Reducing ambient Rn concentration by porous materials is considered as the most feasible and energy-saving ...

Mathematical model of viral kinetics in vitro estimates the number of E2-CD81 complexes necessary for hepatitis C virus entry. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2011
Interaction between the hepatitis C virus (HCV) envelope protein E2 and the host receptor CD81 is essential for HCV entry into target cells. The number of E2-CD81 complexes necessary for HCV entry has remained difficult to estimate experimentally.

Critical damping in a kinetic interaction network [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010
In a kinetic interaction network, signals are emitted through motion. Natural examples include bird flocks, fish schools, and robot teams. A kinetic interaction network transmits information about external cues quickly and accurately. Analysis of a one-dimensional interaction network reveals a bound on the algebraic connectivity above which the ...

Studies of the Effects of Co-substrates on Biodegradation Kinetics of 4-Chlorophenol Using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This study aimed to investigate the effect of glucose or sucrose as cosubstrate on the kinetics of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) biodegradation by 4-CP-acclimated activated sludge.
