T-Kininogen, Processing and Functions

1992
Studies are presented which indicate that T-kininogen, the acute phase kininogen of the rat, could be a healing protein because of its properties as a cysteine protease inhibitor. Evidence is also presented that mRNA of T-kininogen synthesis may be a function of interleukin 6 production.

The Preparation of Human Kininogen

The Journal of Immunology, 1971
Abstract Highly purified human plasma kininogen was detected functionally and antigenically in order to establish its electrophoretic mobility, isoelectric point and molecular weight. The effect of specific and nonspecific treatment upon these parameters was assessed and it is suggested that the several human kininogens may in fact ...

Cellular Localization of Human Kininogens

1992
An immunocytochemical screening using polyclonal and monoclonal antikininogen antibodies was performed in various human tissues including blood cells. By comparing the spatial relationship between the cellular localizations of tissue kallikrein and kininogens it was evident that in some tissues both enzyme and substrate were present establishing a ...

Demonstration of high-molecular-weight kininogen in kininogen-deficient rat kidneys.

Journal of biochemistry, 1995
Brown Norway Katholiek (B/N-Ka) is a mutant rat strain deficient in plasma high-molecular-weight (HK) and low-molecular-weight kininogen (LK). It has been reported that the deficiency, caused by defective secretion of HK and LK by the liver, is associated with a point mutation of alanine (163) to threonine in the common heavy chain.

Immunopurification of human plasma kininogens

Molecular Immunology, 1985
Human plasma kininogens were purified by immunoadsorption on Sepharose columns using two different approaches, either removing protein impurities with the respective immunospecific polymers or applying an anti-kininogen-specific immunoadsorbent column.
