NaNog: A pluripotency homeobox (master) molecule. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
One of the most intriguing aspects of cell biology is the state of pluripotency, where the cell is capable of self-renewal for as many times as deemed necessary , then at a specified time can differentiate into any type of cell. This fundamental process

Nap1L4a Cooperates with Scl/Klf1 to Recruit H2A.Z in Mediating Interactions Among Cis‐Regulatory Elements and Transcription Required for Primitive Erythropoiesis in Zebrafish

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nap1l4a is required in erythropoiesis and hypoxia responses via physical interaction with Klf1 and Scl to recruit the histone variant H2A.Z. This facilitates its associated cis‐regulatory element (CRE) remodeling and the consequent chromatin assembly, and activates the transcription of erythroid lineage‐specific genes.

KLF4 prevents epithelial to mesenchymal transition in human corneal epithelial cells via endogenous TGF-β2 suppression

open access: yesRegenerative Therapy, 2019
Introduction: Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is considered one of the Yamanaka factors, and recently, we and others have shown that KLF4 is one of the transcription factors essential for reprogramming non-human corneal epithelial cells (HCECs) into HCECs ...

Akt-dependent Pp2a activity is required for epidermal barrier formation during late embryonic development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Acquisition of epidermal barrier function occurs late in mouse gestation. Several days before birth a wave of barrier acquisition sweeps across murine fetal skin, converging on dorsal and ventral midlines.

HMGB2–RAD21 Axis Promotes Fibro/Adipogenic Progenitor Proliferation and Regulates Fat Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first developmental atlas of embryonic skeletal muscle fibro/adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) and identified an HMGB2+ FAPs subpopulation that regulates FAP pool size and muscle homeostasis. HMGB2 directly targets the RAD21 promoter, and its knockout significantly reduces FAP numbers, thereby lowering the potential for ...

KLF4 Expression Correlates with the Degree of Differentiation in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2011
Background/AimsKr?ppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is an epithelial-specific transcription factor primarily expressed in the gastrointestinal tract that mediates growth arrest in the colonic epithelium.

Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4): What we currently know [PDF]

open access: yesGene, 2017
Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is an evolutionarily conserved zinc finger-containing transcription factor that regulates diverse cellular processes such as cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation. Since its discovery in 1996, KLF4 has been gaining a lot of attention, particularly after it was shown in 2006 as one of four factors involved in the ...

A-Lister: a tool for analysis of differentially expressed omics entities across multiple pairwise comparisons. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BackgroundResearchers commonly analyze lists of differentially expressed entities (DEEs), such as differentially expressed genes (DEGs), differentially expressed proteins (DEPs), and differentially methylated positions/regions (DMPs/DMRs), across ...

First steps to define murine amniotic fluid stem cell microenvironment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Stem cell niche refers to the microenvironment where stem cells reside in living organisms. Several elements define the niche and regulate stem cell characteristics, such as stromal support cells, gap junctions, soluble factors, extracellular matrix ...
