The Antiaging Protein Klotho Enhances Oligodendrocyte Maturation and Myelination of the CNS [PDF]

We have previously shown that myelin abnormalities characterize the normal aging process of the brain and that an age-associated reduction in Klotho is conserved across species. Predominantly generated in brain and kidney, Klotho overexpression extends life span, whereas loss of Klotho accelerates the development of aging-like phenotypes.

What's new? Interferon γ (IFNγ) is a key player in breast cancer, with the potential to induce apoptosis and to shift tumors into a dormant state. However, it also may promote carcinogenesis and angiogenesis. In this study, transcriptomic analysis identified the transcription factor RIP140 as a key regulator of IFNγ signaling in breast cancer.
