A Randomized, Sham‐Controlled Trial of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Targeting M1 and S2 in Central Poststroke Pain: A Pilot Trial

open access: yesNeuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface, EarlyView., 2021
Abstract Objectives Central poststroke pain (CPSP), a neuropathic pain condition, is difficult to treat. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) targeted to the primary motor cortex (M1) can alleviate the condition, but not all patients respond. We aimed to assess a promising alternative rTMS target, the secondary somatosensory cortex (S2),

Structural attributes for the recognition of weak and anomalous regions in coiled-coils of myosins and other motor proteins

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2012
Background Coiled-coils are found in different proteins like transcription factors, myosin tail domain, tropomyosin, leucine zippers and kinesins. Analysis of various structures containing coiled-coils has revealed the importance of electrostatic and ...

Antibody markup language (AbML) — a notation language for antibody-based drug formats and software for creating and rendering AbML (abYdraw)

open access: yesmAbs, 2022
As interest in antibody-based drug development continues to increase, the biopharmaceutical industry has begun to focus on complex multi-specific antibodies (MsAbs) as an up-and-coming class of biologic that differ from natural monoclonal antibodies ...

Biparatopic antibody BA7208/7125 effectively neutralizes SARS-CoV-2 variants including Omicron BA.1-BA.5

open access: yesCell Discovery, 2023
SARS-CoV-2 Omicron subvariants have demonstrated extensive evasion from monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) developed for clinical use, which raises an urgent need to develop new broad-spectrum mAbs.

Alanine zipper-like coiled-coil domains are necessary for homotypic dimerization of plant GAGA-factors in the nucleus and nucleolus. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
GAGA-motif binding proteins control transcriptional activation or repression of homeotic genes. Interestingly, there are no sequence similarities between animal and plant proteins.

Design Principles for Bispecific IgGs, Opportunities and Pitfalls of Artificial Disulfide Bonds

open access: yesAntibodies, 2018
Bispecific antibodies (bsAbs) are antibodies with two binding sites directed at different antigens, enabling therapeutic strategies not achievable with conventional monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).

Large‐Diameter DNA‐Scaffolded Nanopores Enabled by Loosely Packed Peptides for Single‐Molecule Sensing

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A nanopore composed of transmembrane peptides and a DNA scaffold that assists peptide assembly was constructed. By employing peptides containing the unnatural amino acid 2‐aminoisobutyric acid (Aib), which promotes loose packing between helices, a large‐diameter nanopore was achieved.

An antibody with Fab-constant domains exchanged for a pair of CH3 domains.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
We have designed a complete antibody-like construct where the CH1 and Cκ domains are exchanged for a pair of the CH3 domains and efficient pairing of the heavy and light variable domain is achieved using "Knobs-into-Holes" strategy.
