KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Knock-Prediction System for Kerosene Engines Using In-Cylinder Pressure Signal

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Piston engines fueled by kerosene have a strong application prospect in special vehicles and small aircrafts, but the low amount of octane in kerosene fuel causes its knock combustion phenomenon to be particularly serious.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Lack of hepatic apoE does not influence early Aβ deposition: observations from a new APOE knock-in model

open access: yesMolecular Neurodegeneration, 2019
The apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene is the strongest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer disease (AD). ApoE is produced by both astrocytes and microglia in the brain, whereas hepatocytes produce the majority of apoE found in the periphery.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Knock‐on community impacts of a novel vector: spillover of emerging DWV‐B from Varroa‐infested honeybees to wild bumblebees

open access: yesEcology Letters, 2019
Novel transmission routes can directly impact the evolutionary ecology of infectious diseases, with potentially dramatic effect on host populations and knock‐on effects on the wider host community.

Analysis of Engine Knock Sensor

open access: yesCommunications, 2018
The paper deals with design of a simple device for the detection of this disorder. In the beginning of the paper the effect of the undesirable detonation combustion in internal combustion engines is described.

“Knock for knock” en contratos de fletamento: sus elementos centrales e interpretación judicial en el derecho comparado norteamericano e inglés

open access: yesBoletín Mexicano de Derecho Comparado, 2021
La noción de “knock for knock” implica un régimen contractual que aplica un principio de distribución del riesgo y asignación de sus responsabilidades asociadas. Esta distribución se realiza sobre el criterio de que cada parte soporta sus propios riesgos,

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Experimental Investigation on Knock Characteristics from Pre-Chamber Gas Engine Fueled by Hydrogen

open access: yesEnergies
Hydrogen-fueled engines require large values of the excess air ratio in order to achieve high thermal efficiency. A low value of this coefficient promotes knocking combustion.
