Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

KRISP: Integrating Implicit and Symbolic Knowledge for Open-Domain Knowledge-Based VQA [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
One of the most challenging question types in VQA is when answering the question requires outside knowledge not present in the image. In this work we study open-domain knowledge, the setting when the knowledge required to answer a question is not given/annotated, neither at training nor test time.

Knowledge Representation, Reasoning and Declarative Problem Solving

open access: yes, 2003
Knowledge management and knowledge-based intelligence are areas of importance in today's economy and society, and their exploitation requires representation via the development of a declarative interface whose input language is based on logic.

Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Structural representations of unstructured knowledge

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2005
Knowledge should be represented in a formal, structured manner if we want to process and manage it. Unfortunately a source knowledge presented in many documents has informal, unstructured shape. The goal of these considerations is to present the methods

Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

A STUDY OF CONTEXT INFLUENCES IN ARABIC-ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRANSLATION TECHNOLOGIES

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia, 2017
Social and cultural context is largely missing in current language translation systems. Dictionary based systems translate terms in a source language to an equivalent term in a target language, but often the translation could be inaccurate when context ...

A Set Theoretic Approach for Knowledge Representation: the Representation Part [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
In this paper, we propose a set theoretic approach for knowledge representation. While the syntax of an application domain is captured by set theoretic constructs including individuals, concepts and operators, knowledge is formalized by equality assertions. We first present a primitive form that uses minimal assumed knowledge and constructs.

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

Inference of Biomedical Relations Among Chemicals, Genes, Diseases, and Symptoms Using Knowledge Representation Learning

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Knowledge representation learning represents entities and relations of knowledge graph in a continuous low-dimensional semantic space. Recently, various representation learning models have successfully been developed to infer novel relations in general ...
