Abstract One of disease that attacks in common koi fish until now is caused by infection of Koi Herpes Virus. Koi Herpes Virus (KHV) is one type of DNA virus that attacks the family of Cyprinidae. Based on the preliminary test using PCR techniques gills, of koi fish infected by KHV was positive.

A Systematic Review of Biofloc Technology and Periphyton in Giant Freshwater Prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) Aquaculture

Biofloc technology and periphyton‐based systems enhance the sustainable production of giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). A PRISMA‐guided review (2005 – 2024) shows that BFT improves survival (75 – 78 %) and feed efficiency, while periphyton supports natural productivity in grow‐out.

First isolation of koi herpes virus (KHV) in Italy from imported koi (Cyprinus carpio koi)

The present work describes the first Italian Koi Herpes Virus (KHV) outbreak where the infectious agent was isolated and genetically characterized. At the beginning of April 2012, a batch of koi (Cyprinus carpio koi) was imported from Israel by a wholesale facility located in North-Eastern Italy.
