Konjac glucomannan (KGM), alone or in combination with xanthan gum (XG), was evaluated as main component of systems capable of controlling the diffusion of small molecules with a view of their use in drug delivery. To provide the study with enough general character, KGM batches were obtained from the three main areas of excipient harmonization (Europe,

Konjac glucomannan, a promising polysaccharide of Amorphophallus konjac K. Koch in health care
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2016In recent year, konjac glucomannan (KGM) has attracted more attention due to its non-harmful and non-toxic properties, good biocompatibility, biodegradability and hydrophilic ability. Moreover, KGM and their derivatives have several importances in the multidirectional research areas such as nutritional, biotechnological and fine chemical fields. In the

Deacetylation of konjac glucomannan by mechanochemical treatment
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2008AbstractThis article presents the experimental results on deacetylation of a konjac glucomannan (KGM) powder with alkali in mechanochemical (MC) treatment by a dry vibrating mill. It is indicated that the acetyl group of the KGM powder could be removed by means of the MC method.

Solution Conformation of Konjac Glucomannan Single Helix
Advanced Materials Research, 2011The possibility of the existence of konjac glucomannan (KGM) single helix in dilute solution was discussed finely by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer (UV-Vis) with Congo red complex, viscosimetry and circular dichroism (CD). KGM bound to Congo red and the λ max characteristic shifted markedly to longer wavelength (514 nm) in 0.25 M aq NaOH.

Preparation and Characterization of Konjac Glucomannan Gel
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011Konjac glucomannan (KGM) gel was prepared by alkali catalyzed in aqueous solutions. The structure of the KGM gel was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXRD). The gel point of KGM solutions was determined by steady state fluorescence method and It was observed that the gel point of the KGM

Thermoreversible konjac glucomannan gel crosslinked by borax
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2008Abstract Dynamic viscoelastic measurements were carried out for novel konjac glucomannan/borax gels. Gel networks were formed through the crosslinking reaction between borate ions dissociated from borax and the cis -diol sites on the polysaccharide chains.

The Research of Konjac Glucomannan Fracturing System
Advanced Materials Research, 2013Fracturing fluid was obtained by putting the organic borate and organic titanium crosslinkers into the base fluid of konjac glucomannan. The properties of the fracturing fluid were also discussed. The system was very stable until the temperature reach to 90°C.

Characterization and property of palmitoylated konjac glucomannan
Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 1997Various degrees of paimitoylated konjac glucomannan (PKGM) are prepared by heterogeneous method. Differential thermal analysis (DTA) thermographs show PKGM having certain degree of substitution (DS) gave a new crystalline peak at higher temperature. And PKGM having higher DS only shows the new crystalline state.

Gelation behaviour of konjac glucomannan with different molecular weights
Biopolymers, 2001The deacetylation and gelation of konjac glucomannan (KGM) following alkali addition was investigated by Fourier transform infrared, while the rheological properties of KGM with different molecular weights were studied by dynamic viscoelastic measurements in shear mode and penetration force tests.

Ultrasonic Effect on Konjac Glucomannan Molecular Dimension
2012In this paper, the ultrasonic effect on konjac glucomannan(KGM) molecular dimension was discussed. The KGM polarity, molecular weight(Mw) and conformation were analyzed by digital polarimeter and LLS. The result indicated that the polarity change influenced by ultrasonic accorded with linear function equation.
