Competence Development and Evaluation Dynamics in the Context of Learning

open access: yesRisk, Hazards &Crisis in Public Policy, Volume 17, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Organizations operating in high‐risk environments rely on learning from real incidents, yet how evaluation practices contribute to competence development and organizational learning remains insufficiently understood. This challenge is evident in police operations, where decisions made under uncertainty have immediate implications for safety ...

Simultaneous Knockout of Tk1‐SST and Tk1‐FFT via CRISPR/Cas9 Enhances the Natural Rubber Accumulation in Taraxacum kok‐saghyz

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 12, Page 5654-5676, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Taraxacum kok‐saghyz (TKS) synthesises natural rubber (NR) and inulin using sucrose as a carbon source. However, molecular mechanisms regulating inulin and NR accumulation remain largely unclear. Here, we report the generation of double‐gene homozygous mutants, 1‐sst1‐fft, by simultaneously knocking out two key genes responsible for inulin ...

Differences in Performance in the Trail Making Test Part B Between Adoptees With High and Low Genetic Risk for Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders: The Finnish Adoptive Family Study of Schizophrenia

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 62, Issue 8, October 2025.
Genetic risk alone did not predict impaired TMT‐B performance, challenging the view that cognitive abnormalities represent an endophenotype of schizophrenia. Psychiatric morbidity was strongly associated with poorer test performance, suggesting that psychopathology impairs executive functioning.

Aspects of Genetic Diversity, Host Specificity and Public Health Significance of Single‐Celled Intestinal Parasites Commonly Observed in Humans and Mostly Referred to as ‘Non‐Pathogenic’

open access: yesAPMIS, Volume 133, Issue 9, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Clinical microbiology involves the detection and differentiation of primarily bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi in patients with infections. Billions of people may be colonised by one or more species of common luminal intestinal parasitic protists (CLIPPs) that are often detected in clinical microbiology laboratories; still, our knowledge
