Effects of Mutations in Ribosomal Protein L16 on Susceptibility and Accumulation of Evernimicin [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2001
ABSTRACT Chemical mutagenesis of Staphylococcus aureus RN450 generated two strains that displayed a stable reduction (30- to 60-fold) in susceptibility to evernimicin. Cell-free translation reactions demonstrated that the resistance determinant was located in the ribosomal fraction.

Developmental regulation of ribosomal protein L16 genes in Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, 1995
Lateral roots can be synchronously induced in Arabidopsis by a brief auxin treatment. An early event in the development of a lateral root primordium is the accumulation of mRNAs encoding ribosomal proteins. In situ hybridizations show that mRNA encoding one ribosomal protein, L16, accumulates in all rapidly proliferating tissues including the shoot and
