Photon propagation and the VHE gamma-ray spectra of blazars: how transparent is really the Universe? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Recent findings by gamma-ray Cherenkov telescopes suggest a higher transparency of the Universe to very-high-energy (VHE) photons than expected from current models of the Extragalactic Background Light.

Model‐informed drug development to support nemolizumab clinical development in adults and adolescents with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Population pharmacokinetic (popPK) and pharmacokinetic‐pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) models were developed to support clinical development of nemolizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the IL‐31 receptor α, in adolescents and adults with moderate‐to‐severe atopic dermatitis (AD).

Impact of Social Responsibility on the Quality of Company Governance

open access: yesNaše Gospodarstvo, 2019
The central aim of the article is company governance, i.e., researching governance of a company that does not want to be only financially successful but also direct its governance toward socially responsible governance.

Population pharmacokinetics and dose–response relationships of mitoxantrone in children with acute myeloid leukaemia

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background Information on mitoxantrone pharmacokinetics in children is lacking and reduced dosing regimens applied to infants are supported by limited scientific rationale. The current study characterized mitoxantrone pharmacokinetics in a childhood acute myeloid leukaemia patient population and provides a data‐informed assessment of dosing.

Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria That Produce Exopolymers Thrive in the Calcifying Zone of a Hypersaline Cyanobacterial Mat

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
Calcifying microbial mats in hypersaline environments are important model systems for the study of the earliest ecosystems on Earth that started to appear more than three billion years ago and have been preserved in the fossil record as laminated ...

Ordering tendencies and electronic properties in quaternary Heusler derivatives

open access: yes, 2017
The phase stabilities and ordering tendencies in the quaternary full-Heusler alloys NiCoMnAl and NiCoMnGa have been investigated by in-situ neutron diffraction, calorimetry and magnetization measurements. NiCoMnGa was found to adopt the L2$_1$ structure,

Onsager coefficients of a finite-time Carnot cycle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We study a finite-time Carnot cycle of a weakly interacting gas which we can regard as a nearly ideal gas in the limit of $T_\mathrm{h}-T_\mathrm{c}\to 0$ where $T_\mathrm{h}$ and $T_\mathrm{c}$ are the temperatures of the hot and cold heat reservoirs ...

Expression, Purification, and Microscopy‐Based Assays for Engineered Recombinant Tyrosinated, Detyrosinated, and Δ2 Human Tubulin

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microtubules are noncovalent polymers assembled from α/β tubulin dimers. Their structure, dynamics and interaction with effectors are regulated through the expression of diverse tubulin isotypes and chemically diverse posttranslational modifications, also known as the “tubulin code.” Understanding the biophysical correlates between tubulin ...

Influence of tetragonal distortion on the magnetic and electronic properties of the Heusler compound Co2TiSn from first principles

open access: yes, 2010
Using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbitals method we determine ab-initio the lattice parameters of tetragonally distorted Co2TiSn in the L21 structure.

Preparation and Magneto-Structural Investigation of High-Ordered (L21 Structure) Co2MnGe Microwires

open access: yesProcesses, 2023
We used the Taylor–Ulitovsky technique to prepare nanocrystalline Co2MnGe Heusler alloy glass-coated microwires with a metallic nucleus diameter of 18 ± 0.1 µm and a total diameter of 27.2 ± 0.1 µm. Magnetic and structural studies were carried out to determine the fundamental magneto-structural characteristics of Co2MnGe glass-coated microwires.
