Therapeutic Potential of Berberis vulgaris in Modulating Metabolic Syndrome Biomarkers: Mechanistic Insights and Functional Food Implications

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Barberry (Berberis vulgaris) has emerged as a promising functional food candidate for the management of metabolic syndrome due to its diverse bioactive constituents, particularly berberine. This review synthesizes current experimental and clinical evidence regarding its effects on glycemic control, lipid metabolism, blood pressure regulation ...

Neuroprotective Effects of Biosynthetic d‐Calcium Pantothenate and Cyanocobalamin Against MPTP‐Induced Parkinsonism via Microbiota Modulation, Metabolic Homeostasis Restoration, and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Inhibition

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 4, July 2026.
Biosynthetic D‐calcium pantothenate and cyanocobalamin alleviate MPTP‐induced Parkinsonism in mice by modulating gut microbiota, restoring metabolic homeostasis, and inhibiting Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress. ABSTRACT Vitamin B5 (VB5) and Vitamin B12 (VB12) are essential micronutrients widely distributed in functional foods, yet their neuroprotective ...

Resveratrol Attenuates Obesity by Inducing GDF15 Expression via the p38‐ATF3 Signaling Pathway

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Resveratrol dose‐dependently upregulates GDF15 expression in murine and human cells via the p38‐ATF3 signaling axis. In high‐fat diet fed mice, resveratrol elevates systemic and tissue GDF15 levels, thereby reducing food intake and weight gain and conferring resistance to diet‐induced obesity. This study identifies a novel p38‐ATF3‐GDF15 axis mediating

Robot‐Assisted Laparoscopic Partial Adrenalectomy Utilizing Intraoperative Indocyanine Green Near‐Infrared Fluorescence Imaging for Pheochromocytoma: A Case Report

open access: yesIJU Case Reports, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Indocyanine green (ICG) near‐infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging facilitates pheochromocytoma identification during adrenal surgery. Case Presentation We report a 21‐year‐old woman with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2A and bilateral adrenal tumors who underwent ICG‐NIRF–guided, robot‐assisted partial adrenalectomy for ...

Odor–visual and visual–visual matching to sample with dogs

open access: yesJournal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, Volume 126, Issue 1, July 2026.
Abstract Matching‐to‐sample (MTS) procedures are commonly employed to study learning and behavior, but they have rarely been used with dogs. One MTS procedure that might have applied and experimental value is an odor–visual matching procedure in which selection of a specific visual stimulus is reinforced following exposure to a specific odor.
