Performance Of Optical Label Switching Network With Multi Protocol Label Switching Implementation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Today, the phenomenal traffic growth of Internet leads to the dramatic expansion of the transmission lines in the Internet Protocol (IP) network. Fibre optics as the key of the future transmission networks has evolved to provide almost limitless ...

Transcriptional regulation of neuropeptide receptors underlies context‐dependent adaptation in Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Under environmental changes, the expression level of neuropeptide (NP) and neuropeptide receptor (NPR) genes changes to confer context‐dependent adaptation to the model organism Drosophila melanogaster. Through finding more regulatory elements in the NPR genes in comparison with their ligands (NPs), we found that NPR‐biased transcriptional regulation ...

Enumeration of graphs with a heavy-tailed degree sequence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we asymptotically enumerate graphs with a given degree sequence d=(d_1,...,d_n) satisfying restrictions designed to permit heavy-tailed sequences in the sparse case (i.e. where the average degree is rather small).

Electrical pulse stimulation reflecting the episodic nature of real‐life exercise modulates metabolic and secretory profile of primary human myotubes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Here, we introduced an intermittent electrical stimulation protocol mimicking the episodic nature of real‐life exercise in vitro by alternating low‐ and high‐frequency stimulation. In comparison with widely used continuous stimulation, it enhanced the rate of glucose and fatty acid oxidation, but not the myokine release.

The impact of Hnrnpl deficiency on transcriptional patterns of developing muscle cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We performed nanopore whole‐transcriptome sequencing comparing RNA from Hnrnpl‐knockdown versus control C2C12 myoblasts to investigate the contributions of Hnrnpl to muscle development. Our results indicate that Hnrnpl regulates the expression of genes involved with Notch signaling and skeletal muscle, particularly splicing patterns of specific muscle ...

Switching STudy of Kidney TRansplant PAtients with Tremor to LCP‐TacrO (STRATO): an open‐label, multicenter, prospective phase 3b study

open access: yesClinical Transplantation, 2015
Tremor is a common side effect of tacrolimus correlated with peak‐dose drug concentration. LCPT, a novel, once‐daily, extended‐release formulation of tacrolimus, has a reduced Cmax with comparable AUC exposure, requiring a ~30% dose reduction vs ...

Interplay between RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures in gene regulation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Methodological advances in mapping transcriptome‐wide RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures have started to uncover the potential of RNP conformations in gene regulation. Competing RNA–RNA, RNA‐protein and protein–protein interactions shape the compaction and function of RNPs throughout their lifetime and may provide novel therapeutic targets in ...

THE EFFECT OF NEW FOOD LABELING ON NUTRIENT INTAKES: AN ENDOGENOUS SWITCHING REGRESSION ANALYSIS [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the effect of the new labeling regulations on nutrient intakes using an endogenous switching regression model. Using the 1994 - 96 CSFII/DHKS, we evaluate the impact of food label use on intakes of selected nutrients.Food Consumption ...
