Reversible acylation of elastase by γ-lactam analogues of β-lactam inhibitors
Abstract The reaction of a monocyclic γ-lactam with the serine protease elastase occurs via reversible formation of a hydrolytically labile acyl-enzyme complex; in contrast analogous β-lactam inhibitors irreversibly react to form a relatively stable acyl-enzyme complex.

The synthesis of a library of 6‐alkylidene‐β‐lactams, derived from 6‐aminopenicillanic acid is reported. The 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition of these 6‐alkylidenepenicillanates with nitrones was explored as an approach to synthesize novel chiral ...

ABSTRACT The presence of antibiotics in water not only causes environmental pollution but also increases the growth of antibiotic‐resistant bacterial genes, which pose serious threats to human beings and other water residents. Large numbers of people are reportedly affected by the resistant bacterial genes, as many broad‐spectrum antibiotics are not ...

High Prevalence of blaOXA-2 and blaOXA-10 Genes in the β-Lactam-Resistant Clinical Isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa [PDF]
Background: Increased resistance to β-lactams is one of the most important considerations about Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of blaOXA-2 and blaOXA-10 genes in β-lactam-resistant P. aeruginosa.

Diastereoselectivity in Mn(III)-Promoted 4-exo-trig Cyclization of Enamides to β-Lactams
The effect of chiral substituents on the enamide nitrogen atom upon the diastereoselection of the Mn(III)-mediated 4-exo-trig cyclization to β-lactams was studied.

This study firstly isolated a tuna‐derived gut probiotic Acinetobacter seifertii YFT067. Dietary administration of YFT067 played significant roles in promoting growth performance, SCFAs production, lipid absorption, and metabolism of the host, indicating YFT067 as a promising probiotic candidate for enhancing tuna aquaculture productivity through ...
