ABSTRACT Liver metastasis is a leading cause of mortality in colorectal cancer (CRC), where the inflammatory tumor microenvironment, specifically neutrophil infiltration, significantly promotes metastatic colonization. This study reveals a pro‐metastatic role for alpha‐1 antitrypsin (A1AT) in CRC liver metastasis via a dual mechanism involving ...

Lactate in cardiogenic shock: pathophysiology, prognostic value, and clinical interpretation
In cardiogenic shock (CS), blood lactate concentration is routinely used to assess shock severity and guide clinical decisions. However, lactate interpretation is often oversimplified, leading to confusion between disease severity, shock reversibility ...

Lactate clearance, and lactate in predicting mortality in patients with severe trauma
Abstract Purpose: Lactate Clearance (LC) has recently emerged as a therapeutic goal to be achieved in the first hours of septic shock’s resuscitation. In severe trauma patients, there is an urgent need to rapidly assess initial management’s quality and to diagnose occult hypoperfusion at its early stages.

Effect of lactate clearance rate on survival and functional neurologic recovery rates.
The lactate clearance rates were grouped by quartile (Q). Both the rate of survival to discharge and of CPC 1 or 2 at discharge increased with increasing lactate clearance rate (p p = 0.223). CPC, cerebral performance category.

Lactate in cervical cancer induces HNRNPU K181 lactylation, opposed by NAA50‐mediated acetylation and suppressed by Pazopanib. This lactylation enhances HNRNPU binding to PHGDH pre‐mRNA exon 1, maintaining exon 1‐containing transcripts and mRNA stability, thereby activating serine metabolism.

This study elucidates that β‐elemene promotes cellular uptake of L. gasseri‐derived lactate by enhancing the membrane translocation of MCT1 in a CD147‐dependent manner. Intracellular lactate, through the lactylation of RBBP4 at the K26 site, recruits EP300 to the promoter regions of downstream genes (POLD1/POLD3), catalyzing H3K27ac modification.

Physiological consequences of the work of breathing and of inspiratory muscle training
A reduced blood lactate concentration ([lac-]B) is commonly observed during whole-body exercise following inspiratory muscle training (IMT). However, whether the inspiratory muscles are, in part, the source of these reductions remains unknown ...

This study identifies ARID3A as a key immunosuppressive transcription factor in TNBC. Its inhibition activates the type I IFN pathway, boosting CD8+ T cell infiltration and sensitizing tumors to anti‐PD‐1. The FDA‐approved migraine drug Rimegepant targets ARID3A, enhances immunotherapy efficacy in preclinical models, and establishes a druggable axis to
