Engineered Lactobacillus acidophilus (LH@LA) is developed via in situ polymerization to co‐load lactate oxidase (LOx) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). This system preserves LA activity, evades macrophage phagocytosis, and synergizes LA metabolism with enzyme cascades to enhance immunity, reduce tumor ATP, suppress PD‐L1 expression and AKT‐mTOR ...

Lactobacillus terrae is a later heterotypic synonym of Lactobacillus metriopterae
Lactobacillus metriopterae and Lactobacillus terrae are closely related, and they share 99.5 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity, 98.4 % pheS gene sequence similarity, 99.6 % rpoA gene sequence similarity, 97.9 % average nucleotide identity value and 81.3 % in silico DNA-DNA hybridization value, showing that they have the same taxonomic position.

Engineered Probiotics Mitigate Gut Barrier Dysfunction Induced by Nanoplastics
Intestinal barrier stability is vital for gut health. Plastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) disrupts this barrier, causing inflammation and infections. This study encodes transforming growth factor‐β into EcN and modifies its surface with pH‐responsive polymer (EcNT@L), creating an oral drug delivery system to repair nano PET‐induced intestinal ...

The gut microbiome is a potential target for treating cardiovascular disease. It is found that prophylactic administration of Flavonifractor plautii or its metabolite desaminotyrosine (DAT) exerts pleiotropic cardioprotective effects via promoting cardiomyocyte survival and attenuating cardiac inflammation against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R ...
