Bactérias do grupo Lactobacillus casei: caracterização, viabilidade como probióticos em alimentos e sua importância para a saúde humana Bacteria of Lactobacillus casei group: characterization, viability as probiotic in food products and their importance for human health.

open access: yesArchivos Latinoamericanos de Nutrición, 2007
O grupo Lactobacillus casei compreende bactérias láticas fenotipicamente e geneticamente heterogêneas, aptas a colonizar vários ambientes naturais e criados pelo homem. As bactérias do grupo Lactobacillus casei têm sido amplamente estudadas com relação a

HPLC Characterization of Lactic Acid Formation and FTIR Fingerprint of Probiotic Bacteria during Fermentation Processes

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, 2010
Lactic acid production during growth of several probiotic bacteria (Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium infantis, Lactobacillus casei, Bifidobacterium breve and mix of them) in model MRS media has been monitored using HPLC and the bacterial ...

Optimization of Lyophilized Protective Agent Formulation of Lactobacillus casei LTL1361 Based on Artificial Neural Network Coupled Genetic Algorithm (BP-GA)

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2022
To improve the freeze-drying survival rate of Lactobacillus casei LTL1361 in the vacuum freeze-drying process, the single factor and Plackett-Burman designs were first conducted to verify the main factors affecting the freeze-drying survival rate of ...

Gymnema sylvestre: Bioactive constituents, health benefits, and emerging applications in nutraceuticals and functional foods

open access: yesJSFA reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Gymnema sylvestre (Retz.) R.Br. ex‐Schult., commonly known as “gurmar” or “sugar destroyer,” belongs to the Apocynaceae family and is traditionally used in Ayurveda for diabetes management. This review synthesizes ethnomedicinal evidence with contemporary pharmacological studies, to evaluate the therapeutic properties and mechanistic actions ...

Citrate metabolism in Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus plantarum [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Microbiology, 1998
Information on the factors influencing citrate metabolism in lactobacilli is limited and could be useful in understanding the growth of lactobacilli in ripening cheese. Citrate was not used as an energy source by either Lactobacillus casei ATCC 393 or Lact. plantarum 1919 and did not affect the growth rate when co-metabolized with glucose or galactose.

myo‐Inositol's role in laying hens’ active gastrointestinal microbiota: a strain comparison

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND myo‐Inositol (MI) is a cyclitol involved in cellular metabolism and phytate degradation, yet its influence on the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) microbiota of laying hens remains poorly understood. This study investigated the effects of graded dietary MI supplementation on the active GIT microbial communities of two commercial laying ...

Development of an Escherichia coli–Lactobacillus casei shuttle vector for heterologous protein expression in Lactobacillus casei [PDF]

open access: yesSpringerPlus, 2016
There is an increasing interest to develop various lactic acid bacteria (LAB) species as mucosal delivery vehicles, for which the development of a variety of cloning and expression systems for these bacteria is of primary importance. This study reports the complete nucleotide sequence of the cryptic plasmid pRCEID7.6 derived from the chicken probiotic ...

Isolation and Identification of an Indigenous Probiotic Lactobacillus Strain: Its Encapsulation with Natural Branched Polysaccharids to Improve Bacterial Viability

open access: yesApplied Food Biotechnology, 2017
Background and Objective: Probiotics have to reach their site of action in certain numbers in order to exhibit positive health effects. Encapsulation has shown remarkable enhancing effects on probiotic survival in simulated gastric conditions compared to

Gut microbiota dysbiosis in the inflammatory pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates how gut dysbiosis drives diabetic retinopathy through the gut‐retina axis, a process unfolding in three interconnected stages. First, in the gut, a decrease in beneficial bacteria and an increase in pro‐inflammatory taxa compromise the intestinal barrier, causing a “leaky gut” that allows LPS to translocate into the ...

PRODUCTION OF DOMIATI CHEESE WITH TYPICAL CHARACTERISTICS FROM PASTEURIZED MILK USING Lactobacillus helveticus AND Lactobacillus casel CULTURES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Food and Dairy Sciences, 2002
Domiati cheese was made from pasteurized buffalo's milk with 2 different levels of salt (5 & 10%) inoculated with Lactobacillus he/veticus and L. casei as single or mixed cultures. The cheese was pickled in salted whey for 8 weeks.
