General behavior and motion model for automated lane change
2015 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV), 2015Lane change maneuver is a cause for many severe highway accidents and automatic lane change has great potentials to reduce the impact of human error and number of accidents. Previous researches mostly tried to find an optimal trajectory and ignore the behavior model.

Lane-changing behavior on highways
Physical Review E, 2002We study the lane-changing behavior in multilane highway modeling by a cellular automaton. We analyze the effects of speed limit and stochastic noise. A new parameter is introduced to allow vehicles not to change lanes even when the environmental criteria are met.

Safety analysis of taxi lane changing behavior
5th Advanced Forum on Transportation of China (AFTC 2009), 2009Taxi, by providing flexible and convenient service, becomes one of the most importation modes of passenger transport. However, the increasing popular of taxi has brought several problems to urban traffic. The current study is to explore the characteristics and safety of taxi lane changing behavior on urban road.

Identification of Lane-Changing Behavior Oriented to Behavioral Early Warning
2018 10th International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation (ICMTMA), 2018The driver lane change process is divided into two parts: lane change awareness formation and behavior implementation. Considering that the intrinsic factors of assessing the status and ability of drivers and the external traffic environment factors will affect the entire lane changing process independently rather than being independent and non ...

Lane change behavior with a side blind zone alert system
Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2008This in-traffic study explored the effect of a side blind zone alert (SBZA) system on driver lane change behavior. Such a system may help drivers avoid lane change crashes by warning them with a side mirror display when a vehicle is detected in their blind zone.

Modeling of decision-making behavior for discretionary lane-changing execution
2016 IEEE 19th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2016Modeling of decision-making behavior for discretionary lane-changing execution (DLCE) is fundamental to both movement simulation and controlling design of automatic vehicles. The existing gap acceptance models ingored the nonlinearity of drivers' DLCE decision-making behavior. Therefore, this study tries to analyze and simulate the DLCE decision-making

Prediction of driver lane-change behavior
2019Prediction of driver lane-change (LC) behavior is very important to avoid LC related traffic accidents. The aim of this dissertation is to propose a comprehensive framework, including experimental design, modeling, feature selection as well as evaluation, which can be implemented for prediction of driver LC behavior.

Towards a Driver Model: Preliminary Study of Lane Change Behavior
2008 11th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2008The presented work formulates an framework in which early prediction of drivers lane change behavior is realized. We aim to build a representation of drivers lane change behavior in order to recognize and to predict driver's intentions as a first step towards a realistic driver model.

Manifold Learning for Lane-changing Behavior Recognition in Urban Traffic
2019 IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference (ITSC), 2019Based on manifold learning (ML), a novel driver behavior recognition (DBR) method is proposed in this paper to recognize the lane-changing behaviors of surrounding vehicles based on the camera-only information. In our study, one of the most widely-used ML methods, isometric mapping (Isomap), is adopted to find the latent manifold structure of the ...
