The Laplace operator with potential on the 2-sphere
where for any cotangent vector v, g(v) is the average of q over the geodesic with initial tangent vector (associated by the Riemannian metric with) v. In particular the points (1) fill out a full interval if 4 is not identically zero. In all cases except the n-sphere this holds if q is itself not identically zero; but for the n-sphere 4 is identically ...

On the Density–Density Correlations of the Non‐Interacting Finite Temperature Electron Gas
ABSTRACT The density–density correlations of the non‐interacting finite temperature electron gas are discussed in detail. Starting from the ideal linear density response function and utilizing general relations from linear response theory, known and novel expressions are derived for the pair correlation function, static structure factor, dynamic ...

Non‐Markovian Quantum Kinetic Simulations of Uniform Dense Plasmas: Mitigating the Aliasing Problem
ABSTRACT Dense quantum plasmas out of equilibrium are successfully modeled using quantum kinetic equations, such as the quantum Boltzmann, Landau, or Balescu–Lenard equation. However, these equations do not properly take into account correlation effects, which require the use of generalized non‐Markovian kinetic equations.

Creep properties and constitutive model of diabase in deep water conveyance tunnels
The axial and lateral creep characteristics of diabase were analyzed based on compression creep tests. The nonlinear viscoelastic‐plastic model capable of describing the whole creep process was established based on the fractional derivative and damage theories.

Data integration improves species distribution forecasts under novel ocean conditions
Accurate forecasts of species distributions in response to changing climate is essential for proactive management and conservation decision‐making. However, species distribution models (SDMs) often have limited capacity to produce robust forecasts under novel environmental conditions, partly due to limitations in model training data.

Load adaptation indices and concepts. An adapted RV in response to overload increases wall thickness to normalize wall stress and preserve function and morphology. If hemodynamic overload is sustained, it can progress to a maladaptive state and lead eventually to heart failure. CI, cardiac index; Ees, ventricular elastance; Ea, arterial elastance; MPAP,

Critical Points of the Determinant of the Laplace Operator
The determinant of the Laplace operator is a function on the set of metrics on a compact manifold. The author considers one-parameter variations of metrics of fixed volume in the conformal class of given metric and finds the condition for a metric to be a critical point of the determinant function.
