Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Search for Large Extra Dimensions in Final States Containing One Photon or Jet and Large Missing Transverse Energy Produced in p anti-p Collisions at s**(1/2) = 1.96 TeV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The authors present the results of searches for large extra dimensions in samples of events with large missing transverse energy E{sub T} and either a photon or a jet produced in p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV collected with the CDF II ...

Non-trivial thick brane realisations with 3-forms

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We explore the construction of four-dimensional thick branes supported by massless 3-forms in a five-dimensional bulk space. The required residual Poincaré symmetry on the brane is realised as a combination of the bulk symmetries and the internal gauge ...

Constraining compressed versions of MUED and MSSM using soft tracks at the LHC

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
A compressed spectrum is an anticipated hideout for many beyond standard model scenarios. Such a spectrum naturally arises in the minimal universal extra dimension framework and also in supersymmetric scenarios.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Stringent neutron-star limits on large extra dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Supernovae (SNe) are copious sources for Kaluza-Klein gravitons which are generic for theories with large extra dimensions. These massive particles are produced with average velocities ~0.5 c so that many of them are gravitationally retained by the SN ...

LARGE EXTRA DIMENSIONS: BECOMING ACQUAINTED WITH AN ALTERNATIVE PARADIGM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This is a colloquium style pedagogical introduction to the paradigm of large extra dimensions. This talk was delivered at various universities including UCLA (1999), Technion (2000), DESY (2001), University of Pisa (2001), UBC (2002), NYU (2002 ...

Analysis of inflationary models in higher-dimensional uniform inflation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We consider higher-dimensional uniform inflation, in which the extra dimensions expand at the same rate as three-dimensional non-compact space during inflation.

Kinetic mixing, dark photons and extra dimensions. Part III. Brane localized dark matter

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
Extra dimensions have proven to be a very useful tool in constructing new physics models. In earlier work, we began investigating toy models for the 5-D analog of the kinetic mixing/vector portal scenario where the interactions of dark matter, taken to ...

Long‐term culture of skin biopsies: maintenance of fibroblast production and competency of reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Skin biopsies taken from a patient with an ultra‐rare disorder as well as controls were cultured for up to 473 days. The chunks of skin were serially transferred to a new culture plate when confluent with fibroblasts. Different generations of fibroblasts were analyzed for cell and molecular properties, proliferation, and competence for reprogramming to
