Effect of sodium bicarbonate, sodium lasalocid and sugar cane on the performance of bovines fed diets based on steam pressure treated sugarcane bagasse.

open access: yes, 2021

Effect of sodium bicarbonate and/or sodium lasalocid on the ruminal parameters of bovines fed diets based on steam pressure treated sugarcane bagasse

open access: yes, 2019

Identification of Aging‐Related Hub Genes (ATP11B, RBBP7, DOCK10, and NUP160) as Potential Biomarkers and Therapeutic Targets in Sepsis

open access: yesHuman Mutation, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Sepsis arises from a dysregulated host response to infection, leading to multiorgan inflammatory injury. Early diagnosis and treatment necessitate the identification of reliable immune biomarkers. This study investigated the relationship between aging, immunity, and sepsis by analyzing six human aging‐related gene sets (656 genes).

Collaborative Study of a Modified Extraction Procedure for Lasalocid Sodium in Feeds by Microbiological Assay

open access: yesJournal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL, 1976
Abstract A collaborative study was conducted on a modified extraction technique in the microbiological determination of lasalocid sodium in finished poultry feeds. The feed is warmed briefly with pH 4.7 buffer and the drug is extracted with ethyl acetate.

Effects of lasalocid on growth, nutrient digestibility and rumen characteristics in chios lambs and Damascus kids

open access: yes, 1988
Two feeding trials and one digestibility trial with early weaned Damascus kids (50 days of age) and one feeding trial with early weanes Chios female lambs (42 days of age) were carried out to investigate the effects of lasalocid sodium (37.5 mg kg−1 feed

Performance, health and physiological responses of newly weaned feedlot cattle supplemented with feed-grade antibiotics or alternative feed ingredients

open access: yesAnimal, 2018
With increased regulations regarding the use of feed-grade antimicrobials in livestock systems, alternative strategies to enhance growth and immunity of feedlot cattle are warranted.

Dust sprinkling as an effective method for infecting layer chickens with wild‐type Salmonella Typhimurium and changes in host gut microbiota

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 16, Issue 3, June 2024.
Dust sprinkling was an effective way to experimentally colonise layer chickens with Salmonella Typhimurium. Salmonella infection with 1000 CFU/g of dust altered the gut microbiota. This model mimics Salmonella infection in the field. Abstract Role of dust in Salmonella transmission on chicken farms is not well characterised. Salmonella Typhimurium (ST)

Alternatives to conventional antibiotics for the prevention and treatment of commonly occurring diseases in feedlot cattle

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 102, Issue 5, Page 229-241, May 2024.
Antibiotic‐resistant bacteria are a problem in human medicine. The development of antibiotic resistance in bacteria in feedlot cattle could have negative effects on their health and welfare and there is a theoretical possibility of transmission of antibiotic‐resistant bacteria from food animals to humans.

The effects of maternal calcium status during late gestation on lamb growth and survival in twin‐bearing Merino ewes grazing pasture

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 102, Issue 5, Page 249-255, May 2024.
Our project aimed to investigate whether low maternal calcium status during late gestation decreased weight, growth and survival of lambs born to twin‐bearing Merino ewes grazing pasture. On day 130 of gestation, approximately a 10 mL blood sample was collected from 108 twin‐bearing Merino ewes.
