Application data base paleogeographic Kola peninsula «Q-KOLA» in paleolimnological research
The paleogeographic database “Q-KOLA” was created to systematize, statistically analyze and visualize information about the history of the natural ecosystems of the Kola Peninsula in the Late Glacial and Holocene. The database can be used in limnological

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Über Vorkommen „degradierter Steppenböden" in den Lößgebieten des Niederrheins und Westfalens und ihre Bedeutung für die Paläobodenkunde und Bodengenese [PDF]
The loess soils of the Lower Rhine area and of Westphalia partially present deep humic horizonts, the genesis of which was unknown. By the evaluation of elaborated soil estimation maps (M.

Global late Quaternary megafauna extinctions linked to humans, not climate change [PDF]
The late Quaternary megafauna extinction was a severe global-scale event. Two factors, climate change and modern humans, have received broad support as the primary drivers, but their absolute and relative importance remains controversial.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

The deglaciation of the mountains of Mexico and Central America
The last deglaciation is an interval of marked changes in the climate system. The records of glaciation of tropical mountains offer unique opportunities to assess the timing of changes and the sensitivity of tropical climates to global and regional ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Refining the interpretation of lacustrine carbonate isotope records: Implications of a mineralogy-specific Lake Van case study [PDF]
Oxygen and carbon isotope (δ18O and δ13C) data from bulk carbonates are widely applied proxies for temperature, the precipitation/evaporation ratio and productivity in lacustrine palaeohydrology and palaeoclimatology. In case of the terminal and alkaline

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
